They said they pulled several discs due to licensing changes & lack of sales on certain discs themselves.  Haven't heard about them getting nailed for anything - yet.

I have seen posts elesewhere from several people who have heard this first hand from their karaoke stores... I already knew that soundchoice sends some tracks they can't licensing to here in the states over to their sister companies in the UK to get around copyright issues but this is first I heard that someone nailed them for it... will watch it closely...

yeah, my research points only to the retailers that are very loyal to them that will pull the material that the current licensing no longer allows, like Van Morrison, Kid Rock, etc... and it depends on the limit that licensing issue is. Some are no FURTHER tracks, others are a flat out denial of all existing stuff (the Van Morrison issue).

This is getting frustrating!!! As if we don't have enought hassles with undercutters, drunk singers mistreating equipment, etc... Now it seems every disk company is having issues. What's next, copy right laws on our song books?  (sorry, just needed a moment to vent) I'm back to being happy again.. :D

I'm amazed that Kid Rock is one of the artists listed as going after karaoke recreations.  Every Kid cd I have in the liner notes says "If it looks good, you'll see it; If it sounds good, you'll hear it; If it's marketed right, you'll buy it; but... if it's real, you'll feel it."  Can't think of something that would let people know that their music resonates with you than to know they wanted to sing it like you in their basement or in the club.  Anybody got more info on this?

Kid Rock flip flops on the karaoke decision.  Right now he's a no-no.
