Ok. Everyone has books with a bunch of songs. Lonman has over 9000 with no dupes. Knightshow has somewhere around 12,000. I have 6,000 and growing. Others more, others less. But..................how many of all these songs ACTUALLY EVER GET SUNG??????  Now, if I were to construct an utterly BAREBONES ESSENTIALS ONLY songlist of only songs that would ACTUALLY GET SUNG on a regular basis, what would be on it????

Everyone chime in now!

Here's a few I would have:
True Colors-Cyndi Luaper
Like a Virgin-Madonna
Picture-Duet
Goodby Earl-Dixie Chicks
Santeria

Which ones would u add to our list?????

I could probably put together about 200 songs that my regulars always sing because
they keep lists.

Here are a few: Margarittaville, I got you babe, The Dance, Turn the Page, I feel Lucky, Mack the knife, Cats in the cradle, Sweet home Chicago, Black Velvet, The rose, Rodeo song, Mustang Sally, Only the good die young, Brandy, White Wedding, Proud mary, La Bamba, Pretty woman, most beautiful girl, wonderful tonight.

I'm not sure if you are curious of what songs are most popular to sing or
are you trying to put together a bare bones list.

I have over 20,000 songs with no duplicates current to Nov. 2005. I'm not trying to
brag. I don't believe you need this many to be a good KJ.
I worked with an old system with only 4,000 songs for a long time. When I updated
my equipment I added a lot of songs.

I know what you mean. Before I updated to more songs I used to hate
when people would complain I didn't have something - it really would bother
me. Take in consideration it wasn't the amount of songs I had, but it was my selection was old. It was 5-6 years behind. I wanted to save my money and buy the new system. Now it's really paying off.

14,000 with maybe 2000 to 3000 dupes and I still get you don't have this song.
Starting out 3,000 of the most sung stuff would be good, but I wouldn't wanna stay there. Adding songs that singers ask for is one way of staying ahead of the competition. Also not having songs your competition does have could kill you too.
