I'd be quite happy if I could somehow hook the Yamaha CP-25 to an interface...Hammer action..Yet I have no idea about any of this
Karaoker, I'm going to call Sam Ash Keyboard center tomorrow... That's the best bet for starters I think, I know the guys in the NY store

I'll read up on keyboard sites... See what everyone uses
I'll reference midi/audio interfaces and mixers for such a purpose. I know M-audio has stuff out...

But Bab's, Didn't you mention that you have a Significant Other who's a reg on this site ? Do you have a spouse with a STAR ?
I have a fiancee', but he does not belong to the forum. Actually he's been feeling a a little second fiddle to the forum lately. I try to wait until he's asleep, so he doesn't feel I'm replacing him.
I do have a KJ friend that belongs to the forum though.

Steve,
M-Audio is the GOOD STUFF.
Don't buy it unless you want a bargain that offers everything you need and is true pro audio from input to output.

Thank's for the warning Keith, and to think I almost made the mistake of purchasing it LMAO Keith, do you get any of the catalogs such as Ash, Musicians Friend, AMS, etc ? pages 88-91 Sam Ash... there are a batch of firewire audio interfaces listed... I'll name a few makes, and you can give me your opinion, or anyone for that matter can, I haven't a clue what these are, just the basic idea that they provide a means to hook the keyboard via balanced or 1/4 inch male phono to the mixer, patch box (or whatever this is), and than interface out via USB type cable ?? They also are small mixer's ?? Never got into midi-computer stuff...
M-Audio Solo $199
M-Audio 1814 $ 599
M-audio Black box (guitar processor/USB) $279
M-audio 410 $399
M-a MobilePre USB $149
Tascam US-122 USB $200
Tascam FW1804 rack $600
Digidesign Mbox USB $500
Edirol FA-66 24\Edirol UA-25
and Midiman and Lexicon have stuff out.....etc...
WHat the ?????? I'd like the best device that'll work for keyboards, Guitar, Bass, etc.. What are the differences with these devices ? Firewire isn't a term I know about either. I assume a musician needs one of these audio interface devices to put music thru the internet ? and they have balanced in's & 1/4 ins.and out's to computers ? Can they also serve as DI boxes, and junction boxes, route signals to computer, and amp etc ?????, A/B boxes too ? Do I need one of these ? What are the options ? I haven't a clue,,,,, I have the microphone's I'd also want the option if putting over the internet..... Like I said, I've never interfaced instruments with computer before..... Yet a midi keyboard... I wonder if I could put the Korg X-3 workstation (over 10 years old) into something like the M-Audio box

Steven... is it my imagination... or was a whole segment of our conversation deleted from this thread????? If so ... I really would like to know WHY? There was nothing offensive or even remotely questionable in any of those posts. Am I being censored from posting around here? Just looking for some answers. Thanks, CC

Cindy, this is the first It's been brought to my attention, based on post count last I looked I can't imagine why anyone would delete any dialogue that we had, we discussed the weather... ....it was among the lightest tamest content in here.... Let me check now... That'd make no sense to me..... I'll add what I find to this post
ADDED IN AFTER CHECKING FOR DELETED POSTS:
Cindy, Page 5, you're still there :) This is page 7 (and had I been asked to wager on how many pages I believed my inanity would continue for in this thread, I'd have lost money after page 1 had 4 posts). All posts appear present from your first post "Yippee". till the ZZzzzzzzzzzz when I said I'm going to get some rest. about 4 or 5 posts back and forth between you and I. If I'm forgetting something Cindy, notify me via Email or PM... and we'll find out, there was no content between either of us during our chat that possibly could've been offensive...IMHO
Perhaps you just never assumed that this would be page 7, of over 150 posts , and made the normal assumption that this was page 1 or 2

OKay.... must be I am going wacky..... but when I read thru this thread this morning... Those posts were not there! However, it now appears that they must have been. Oh well..... I just got very concerned that maybe something could have been misinterpreted.... though as you say... when talking about the weather I can't think of too much that would could be..... rofl
Perhaps I just hadn't had enough coffee ... or had yet to take my anti-paranoia dose today.... hehehe!
Thanks for taking some time going back thru everything. I did the same this morning... from page one to the end ... and didn't see it... but hey, probably just an oversight on my part.
Hope you are well!
Hugz, CCindy

I'm well CCindy, trying to find a way to postpone one day this month an additional year, I'm dreading it.. That aside, I've decided that it's time to get into midi computer interfacing...So I've been reading... and I haven't a clue as to how little, or how much I need/want.. Assuming it were just vocals I wanted, that'd be easier, Yet I want to interface guitar, bass, and keyboards, so it get's abit tougher, I've just been reading keyboard, and recording room chatter, trying to figure out what's superfuous, and what's not enough
btw, you say "going wacky" as if there's something wrong with that ?
I suppose the transition can be scary..Since there's noticeable contrast, once the phasing in and out ends tho, and you arrive, It's not bad at all

Good to hear that you are doing well, Steve. YES.. I too have a day this month that I'd rather NOT see happen... but considering the alternative.. I guess its okay to "age" ... as long as ya can still get around and enjoy life.... stay busy .. and independent.
Ah.... the dreaded recording stuff, huh? I don't mess with it... that's Perry department. Seems as if some of the others here have some good suggestions and advice for ya, though. Knowing you.... you'll muddle your way thru and find a way to whatcha wanna do. Wish ya the best of luck....

Yes, I'll end up with "something" or other... But on the bright side, at least I now have an additional task to agonize over
