They are one of the U-Worst.

Really, their rock songs aren't that bad and they have alot of 90s rock songs that are really hard to find, but the rest of the genres are subpar by pro standards. If you are just getting these for home use, you would probably enjoy them, just be aware that you are not going to find any new songs after about 1995 in this collection.

Just FYI the discs can be had brand new in the clearance bin of most big karaoke sites for $3-5 a disc, so don't get ripped off by your friend.

Right now on Karaoke.com they have 2 two differing U-Best packages of 20 discs and they are $119.00 each. It looks to me like U-Best just did a repackaging, which most karaoke brands seem to do every year to keep their same old product fresh, even though they don't add any new songs. Again, you won't find this set in most professional collections, but you'll enjoy it for home use if that's your intent.

Much of their stuff is garbage, but they do have a few gems.  Many times their words are so off what the actualy lyric is, it can really throw someone off that even KNOWS the song.  What's really cheap?  I've seen the entire U-Best collection go for $49.95 new several times.

Like I said i've seen the entire collection sold for $49 NEW.  I wouldn't do it personally, but it's not up to me.

They arent the best quality, But for a little over $1 a cd........... what do you expect. They arent Sound Choice, But for a beginner it would be a start.

U-best is more of a VCD brand and their CDG's sounds just like their VCD's with out the graphics!  Like the Doc said, it's not bad to start with, sure sounds better than midi!
