Steven Kaplan @ Tue Jan 03, 2006 4:13 pm wrote: Thank God !!! You're a life saver BadSinger...Maybe I won't steal your title after all !!! Thanks alot Buddy, I'll go get some sleep now ! Incidently, have you seen that Ksol* site ? It's a karaoke site (just add .com to the name)....I got it in the mail yesterday, Look's like it's sponsored, or belong's to a manufacturer *who's name I won't mention because I don't want to get this thread pulled of course*... Thing is, it offer's a free 7 day trial, and appears to be a fun site... Even without joining you get a free 30 seconds of any song the company offer's in either music backing with no vocal form, or standard karaoke form, or the vocal part is offered alone (I believe). I hope this doesn't constitute TOS violation here, if-so, I'll retract it
I know the site and was a member. For some reason after I signed up the site was very very slow and I just can't use it. So end of the story. I still got it book mark tho'.

data center probably has the exact moment our membership was confirmed on memory. Probably the anniversary date star appear's at the time of day our membership was confirmed..
Do you have dialup, or broadband (DSL/Cable connection) ??
Sometimes the interactive site's are slow for me as well. I have DSL, but belong to an interactive musician's site that often seems to load VERY slowly. I wonder if it's your problem at all Badsinger ? or a problem on their end.

The song would have to load onto your system with the lyric's and alot of bytes would be loading, right ? I wonder if that's why some of these interactive sites with audio, and video uploads and downloads are slow... Not sure.. I'm not good with this stuff...hehe
Anyway, time to really hit the sack now..... later

I noticed they "fluff" with rating's as much over there too.. A few people with about 50 or more song's that were rated 10's, certainly weren't 10's... Maybe that's just what people tend to do on online rating venue's, I haven't a clue. I listened to a few folks that were excellent too... Wondered if they'd ever joined here, or other sites as well...

Did you at one point live in the central CT. area ? I assume you did, but now live in Western Canada.

Yup, born and raised in Naugatuck, CT. Angus and his wife were actually the ones that recruited me, so to speak, as a KJ. Now I'm in Northern Alberta. So you're in CT? It really is a small world.

Yep, live only a mile from SS (or where it's location was) LOL , I was over in Angus's site about a week ago. I haven't typed anything in the site in over a year. It look's like he had surgery or something...in the not too distant past. Yep, It appear's he's still down there.. Working that area. I didn't know Angus as well as I knew Graham, just met him toward's the end of the SS days, he seemed like a great guy however.. Very real, and a bright guy ! Spoke with him abit.

I haven't talked to him in months but he helped me get my business started up here. I'll have to check out what's going on with him and send him an email.

Karyoker, Remember in the 60's ? "Sing Along with Mitch" ? The Mitch Miller show ? "Follow the Bouncing Ball" ? Did they ever phase out some of the vocal track, turn it down, or cut the vocal track for the singer during his show ? or was it strictly sing along format throughout. What format did he use for that show ? Tape, Vinyl, or just his own orchestra ?
Reason I'm wondering, is that his show was pretty popular for awhile, (Although it appealed to the older viewer) .. Seem's analog technology could've easily phased out the vocal track even in those days. I don't recall if that was ever done in the 60's or prior (for sing-along recreation type purposes), I don't recall if Miller ever actually did that.... I'm wondering why Karaoke still didn't come about here in the states, for about another 20 years following that show...
Assuming someone introduced the concept (which my premise is he did), wasn't it something that younger folks would've jumped on for 50's and Big-Band type songs too ?? Standard's, Showtunes. etc ?
