Quote: and i always heard that tatoos on a girls back is so your sweetie has something to read during whoopee...
That's a rumor, assuming it were even true, in such a case, people would have the tatoo's on their laptop monitor, right ?

tatoos on the hands and feet... pretty painful, and as gilly adequately described, they swell more than normal tatoos!
The guy that gave me my first tatoo... he had a spotted owl on his hand... but due to the nature of the skin there, he had to have the artwork done in stiple!! ONE dot at a TIME! Said by the time it was done, he was ready to go bonkers!

And, ANOTHER issue with hand and feet tattoos... You LOSE skin there, MUCH faster than any other place on your body... PLUS, that skin goes through SOoo much more abuse than any other area.... so, you better plan to have them CONSTANTLY touched up:) Esp... your foot. CONSTANTLY rubbing against your shoes/socks, and the skin sloughing off. You hands, washing dishes, etc. Fade VERY quickly.. and although most tattoo places do touchups for free, as long as they know ya (every place I have ever been to, always touch up THEIR work), most places will NOT fixup tattoos on hands or feet (simply because it would be NON stop "free" work:) (It is also difficult to convince people to tattoo your hands (necks and faces too) simply because it is NOT something you can easily cover up, and a lot of places DO try to look out for your best interests:) Ok, enough rambling for me:)
OH!! And, as of last night... My Last piece is FINISHED!:) (ok, i DO plan to add on to it in the future, but, the work that is THERE is DONE. After two compltete 8 hour tattoo days, a 4 and several two hour jobs.. it is DONE:)
My NEXT piece is going to be a 16th century Shunga print, done on my back, and blending up and into the flowers. A complete back piece.... hehe... HELP!, I DO take donations;) hehehe.

I've never wanted a tattoo. Some of them have intriguing designs (like the ones in these photos), but there is no way I'm gonna let them stick those needles in me!

Lol, Laura:) They don't "stick needles in you":) It is a little machine, with a vibrating tip. It doesn't technically go into you like a needle. Just bounces into your skin the tiniest bit. It is NOTHING like getting a needle. Feels more like... a rubber band being snapped against you... or like dragging your nails over a sunburn. Nothing that isn't easily handled:) And, when you look AT the machine, you don't get reminded o f "getting a needle" (I know, because I went with a friend who was TERRIFIED of needles (they actually used to GAS the chick, to immunize her:) and she wasn't bothered like she thought she would be:)
Have a good one:)
