Quote: My main questions are do I need more power? You should have enough for now for a small bar. I would check into getting an external efx unit, mic compressor, bbe36 and maybe an aphex 104 or 204.... Quote: And how do I set my 8 band equilizer?
Almost flat you can trim the bass as necessary Those eons will take it just dont run the main outs all the way up.. I run mine -3 to -6db. If you have to run everything hot you need more power.....

The speakers you posted are POWERED speakers....They have their own amps inside, so your mixer amp is not an issue.
If in fact those are the correct speakers, then they do not offer much in the way of power.
If you showed us the wrong speakers and you are actually using the amp built into your mixer, you have even less power.
Your mixer can only deliver 100 watts at 8 Ohms to each the left and right speaker IF YOU ARE NOT USING POWERED SPEAKERS.
Either way, you are way short on power if you expect to fill any average sized venue.

woops I posted the wrong speakers
They are Eon passive not powered http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=live/search/detail/base_pid/600226/
Yikes it looks like even less power -
Quote: Your mixer can only deliver 100 watts at 8 Ohms to each the left and right speaker IF YOU ARE NOT USING POWERED SPEAKERS.
I am running a monitor also
Karyoker - you mentioned getting a few more items, but I don't know what they are or what they do. Help please.

It looks to me that you are grossly under-powered; your amp is only 100w while your speaker can handle 225w rsm. This is a very gross missmatch and may lead you to cliping the amp and blow your horn.
You will be better off having a small mixer (a 6 channel), and an amp that give at least 225w per channel at 8ohm to match your speakers. Then use the amp mixer to power the third speaker.
Just my 2 cent

I agree with that statement.
I'd rather go for a Peavey or Crown amp, with a stand alone mixer to replace your Yorkville MP8.

Okay if I ditch my old amp and get a new amp and a mixer what do you suggest I get to go with my speakers. Remember I use 2 passive JBL Eons for mains and 1 for a monitor. I may also want to add a sub in the future. :D

The new amp and a mixer will be driving your speakers.

Ok here is one possiblity
Since Jbl recommends an amp that is twice the continuous speaker rating, an amp close to 500 watts would work.... The 1500's are 225 watts....
A Mackie 808m would supply 450 watts into 4 ohms.. Thus you coluld run your 2 mains from the left channel and run your monitor from the right channel...

You should have more power for the speakers. 100 watts is not enough - does't matter the size of the room, the speakers are being underdriven, especially if you get nights that might need the volume up "just a bit more". Your amp should push at least (bare minimum) 225 watts per channel into 8 ohms. I personally would look for an amp that pushed about 400-500 watts per channel into 8 ohms. What this does is basically keeps the headroom available, you won't need to turn the system up as high, you will get a MUCH fuller sound & cleaner to boot. With the lower power amp (lower headroom), it hits into clipping (distortion), you have nothing more to push as far as volume EXCEPT distortion. One thing to remember, you may not even notice the distortion, but your speakers will!!!

I suggest the Peavey PV1500 amp.
It will deliver 300watts to each main at 8 Ohms in stereo and includes a 40Hz low cut filter to protect the mains from too low freqs at high sound levels...The low filter also preserves amp headroom.
A little too much amp is a good thang.
Hon, you ain't really heard your speakers yet...You will like them lots more once you give them more amp.

Great ideas already - please keep them coming - I value your imput - I'm going to take your suggestions then do my homework
I'm willing to spend around $1000 for both amp and mixer.
Thank you for the responses so far

If that were my budget I would probably pick up the Crown XLS602 & a Mackie CFX12.
