I use quattro pro (same as excel) as its on my computer. Entries are in my way (song names are the same, ie "Secret Garden" by Elton John is titled different ways, so I went to his discography site and got the proper name "Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny)). The same goes for artists ie J.Lo is in as Lopez, Jennifer.

I posted on the SONGBOOK capability of kjpro, not the special features of fasttracks.
Fasttracks also uses the .net framework... it crashed my pc. KJPro didn't. Your statement on the one-click method of performing monthly updates is inaccurate. One click, and it updates kjpro.
I'm not going to do a point by point arguement with you on fasttracks... it was hawked over at karaoke.com's JOLTForum... and I tried the link then. With disasterous results. So I can't possibly compare the finished product. But anything that causes my pc to urp and die isn't going to be re-evaluated. At least not by me.
Which one is better? I can't say. But I do like KJPro's songbook capabilities... like Lonman, I prefer Access, and Chip's Speedbook uses a customizeable Access format.
Once again, INACCURATE! Fasttracks does not now, nor to my knowledge has it EVER used the .NET framework.
"Your statement on the one-click method of performing monthly updates is inaccurate. One click, and it updates kjpro."
KJPRO: Step 1 : Visit KJPRO website
Step 2: Login
Step 3: Download Update
Step 4: Extract Update
Step 5: Click button in KJPRO to update database.
FastTracks Step 1: Click AutoUpdate
WRONG AGAIN!
You're really showing how little you know!

look, I click on the "update master list" and it does what it's supposed to do. So you're right in that I have to have the update FILE, which is mailed to me.
Sheesh!
As for the .net, I'm pretty certain that's a fact. But I won't swear by it. All I know is I didn't have .net, it asked me to install it, I tried, and it crashed the friggin' pc.
But what do I know?
See, it's nice to be right. You have made your point. I humbly bow to your wealth of knowledge!
DOUBLE sheesh!

Matt, I believe you are misstakenly attributing to Fast Tracks something that you need just to install Latishaw's program. Funny but .net hasn't crashed any of my PC's and I 've got it loaded on two out of three with the third being the one I use for shows which never goes online. Must be a secluded event. Latishaw for some reason is using .msi files for setup files. While I wish he would make it easier to install (something like an .exe file), I have seen other programs using that same method.

Did you use .net 1.1 or 2?
2 is still in Beta nad not supported by most software yet.

Tony, it was a while back... had to be one of the 1.x versions...
I had another post out here, but looks like the mods got it.
I'm perfectly willing to accept I'm wrong on the .net part of fasttracks... I know I have my pc set up to do exactly what I need, and right now, I don't need the .net for anything!
