That's good. Not always easy to express myself.  Occassionally it can get quite hard.
I'm going to go search a few places for a good cheap mouse pad.  Nothing too wild, but I want one that's easy on the eye's too.  Has to fit in with what I currently have

I swear, I've tried many times, but I could never get a date to where she leaked milk and all that stuff he's talking about.

Heck, I wuz lucky to get them in the barn alone with me and hold still for a minute or two....It was harder still to get them haltered and tacked out. Usually, about the time I got them to Gee and Haw they want to see a ring and all that.

It's one thing to get them all hitched up, it's another alltogether different thing to hitch yerself to them.....I just ain't that kinky I guess.

Nope, I believe in "catch and release."

Yea I think thats called whittle tounge... Drink 2 bud lites and call me in the morning... I think walmart has a sale on mouse pads but you have to be there at 4 in the morning...

I learned a few things recently.  For that special event, I keep a rusty file around.  Just sweet talk them,  say something like;  "Daddy's got some sugar for you".. Than pull out the old rusty tool..  They love it !  Once they get a taste of the sweet stuff, you've got them.  You can also coat it with molassis, yet if rust works, sobeit

Been there, done that...I picked up something too.  Should never have gotten up for a black friday cheap special.

Well, If what little I have won't float , I'm certainly not endowed enough to gag a horse. Speculums, and mouth gags aren't my thing. I just can use what little I have. I'm no wealthy doc. I'm poorly equipped.  just a small middle-aged guy with a rusty tool. Face it, sometimes a man must surrender to his limitations, otherwise she'll remain rough around the edges. Even get colic.



They all do !   No matter what you do, it always get's down to that. It really is a commitment. ALL are high maintenance.

wow, maybe we should open a large animal vet clinic!  between all of us here i'm sure we could cure anything.....well at least y'all could make the animal laugh quite a bit.  that reminds of a joke about a horse...i don't think i'll tell it though.  i'm sure you all know the one anyway.

Well, the guy just dropped off the Tennessee Walker today....He's got blue eyes, black mane and light grey base coat with white socks and face.....Flashy horse fersure.... 2 year old gelding about 14 hands....Really stout build.

I'm thinking he's sold, but need to watch for bad habits before I pony up the $$ he's asking.

Him and the appaloosa have already made friends, so no problem there.

I promise to post pics as soon as I can get them in a computer....My camera uses a floppy disc, but none of my computers have a floppy drive. I'll take a disc into work tonight and see if I can email them to me here at home then I can post them.

I'm a sucker, for horse flesh..I bought the Walker.....Had him on a lunge line this morning and he and me connected, so I decided he was ok.....He's real green and never been broke, but we connected instantly, so i called the guy and told him he was sold(600 bucks-cheap!)...He focused fully on me and responded to my every move-he wants to please me....

I'm going to call him Sky Walker cause of his sky blue eyes and the fact he's a gaited horse-a smooth fast walker. I'll keep him cause he is so gentle and will make a great trail horse for a date...I'll keep looking for one for me. I want a flashy gaited paint for myself...I ain't in no hurry for it.

Easy, the appaloosa, is 3 years older and just as green and never been on a lunge line and will probably get confused first time ot two....They waited too long to get him started so my buddy will not have it as simple as me with Sky Walker....Heh, heh. We had a saddle on him two hours after getting him home last week but he bucked then eased up and let us side-ride him till we had enuff. We was trying to see where he was in his training.

I'm going to head back out there and tack Sky Walker out fully and then lunge him around and then just let him stand tied till he gets used to the saddle and all, then i will turn him out with it on his back and let him try to shake it off.....He ain't never had a bit in his mouth but he opens wide for me already...A little molasses on the bit should make him open up and try to eat it.....If it wasn't for Christmas, I go get a round pen today, but I'm broke till next month...I don't want him and me tangled in the barbed wire so I'll stay off him till I get the pen installed....He can wear an old saddle for now, tho and try to scrape it off.

This is one fine young horse Karyoker. I like the way he's colored up and the way he responds, but them blue eyes of his are hard to get used to....They look so much like goat eyes that they kinda scare me...I can't read them.

The appaloosa has weird eyes too...The whites are always showing-that's a distinct app trait, but it takes getting used to....ignorant folks around here call them "crazy eyed".

So I got one white-eyed horse and one blued-eyed.....Gonna take some getting used to.

That's a nice Christmas gift to yourself.  I should get a Horse too.  Great condo pets !

It will be interesting to see how many natural gaits he has...I have had saddle breds that could rack but I couldnt get them to maintain a rack for an extended period of time like in a parade..

I have to do the vfw tonight then I'll go over to the farm tomorrow for a few days Even though they are online over there I'm seldom on....

Well, so far he's a rocking chair horse...He's got a nice smooth walk and a smooth half-run walk....I'm hoping he will do that sideways canter thang that looks so cool....We'll see...He's definately got a lot of over-step and steps way up high with his front feet. He squats his hind and digs in with long and low steps...He sure bobs his head a lot too....I'm hoping he has that special canter where his butt swings out and he bobs his head and gets his mane flying as he goes along....That looks so cool!

My buddy has had two back surgeries and will regret his big app as soon as he trots him. That horse is built to run and will be ruff as a jackhammer at a walk-trot....It's going to be funny hearing his butt slap the saddle as I'm easing along next to him in my rocking chair.

He'll be saying "Keith, hold up, my back hurts....slow down!"

Karyoker, another horsey trivia question for you.

Can you tell me why my buddy is out there right now shaving his horse's legs with a dull old disposable razor?....I ain't kidding, there is a legitimate answer to the question.

hey keith, congrats on the new horse.  they have a few Fresian stables around your area don't they?  those guys are really flashy and have great performance brains!

Man, I could watch performance horses all day!, but here in my world it's more a working horse/working man thang that interests me.

I don't agree with what many trainers do to produce  performance horses. To me,  a horse is already beautiful without breaking his tail or applying painful pressure shoes, or hoof weights and all the other stressful things performance folks do to their horses to make them "Flashy" and more animated in the show ring.

I like to see a man and his horse doing things that come natural to both. I rate their performance as a team where both are solidly into each other because they respect each other and have managed to "connect" with each other.

It's one thing to take a horse who wants to learn and join with him and show off what you both can do, it's different to force it out of one by using pain and physical distortion to make the rider look good.

The Friesian horse is special in that he is a link back in time to old Europe and a special time/place when horse breeding had reached a peak of perfection. He was bred to pull the aristocrat and his lady in flawless flashion in a equally beautiful carriage....The Friesian was the limo of old....He was intended to impress then like a fancy car does today....and he did. ...He still does.....Now a days he is used mostly in dressage where a single rider and his horse demonstrate perfection.

I ain't into polished leather and shiny flashy horses and prissied up riders....I like faded jeans and a wire scarred horse and rider who spend all day every day together working.....Show me a cowboy and a cattle horse who can show off what they do everyday together!

i agree 100% especially wit the hilkighted part of your statement, but the moment i saw that beautiful black horse with the absolutely perfect moves, i knew i was in love.  don't get me wrong, my quarters will always be my favorite everyday horses just like my truck, but every once in awhile i wonder what it would be like to rent a Ferrarri and hit the road!

I think at one point or another everyone wonder's this type thing. I had the oppt to drive a few Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, and a friends Delorean (not the same class of car, I know, yet it still had some drool factor I suppose).  I never owned these cars of course,  but just was allowed to take them for "A spin". I suppose it's interesting for a few minutes, yet on the main road I still was my pokey slow driving self...and kept thinking these things cost $$$, and are toys for adults that have it. I'd just never want something that costly given my life-style, and all the vulnerabilities sharing the road can inflict on it. I don't have a garage, Haven't a clue as to what expenses for these cars upkeep runs...etc, yet to me, given my own priorities, I could never justify paying for one of these costly "cars".. Anyway by the time I got out've these costly toy's, the 10 minute novelty had worn off, I wasn't suddenly successful, or "Cool". There weren't even any supermodels waiting for me <shrug>; My concern became "Murphy" placing a deer in front of someone elses costly toy, and I soon became "Me" again, without the fantasy of owning, or riding in what I was riding in... I was more comfortable getting into my Buick LeSabre afterwards, and thinking to myself;  I'd rather spend my money on musical toys...Those car's aren't me, So I said, "thank's, neat toy", and was glad I didn't crack the thing up accidently.  I'm not wealthy, not meant to be, and a nice shell unless it's practical and extremely comfortable only would appear pretentious,  that's the only reason I'd want it to begin with,  Yet it's not where I can find comfort.. I'd get a ding in the car,  and beat myself up mercilessly, or some jealous fool would key the thing around here...  The experience ended up a memory, and along with my suits and ties that collect dust. Just something else I did in my past; Something else that I did, or tried that wasn't *me*..

Lower standards makes life so much more relaxing
