Michael, I grew up across the sound in Westport. Spouse swapping in the 60's and early 70's wasn't a rare activity, it was just being "neighborly" in those days I suppose many that don't live in certain geographic area's, let alone this country, can't know of the wanton activity that we grew up with during the "free love" era. Swinging is nothing new by any means. It was just the recreational thing to do for some. Many parties became orgies. Those of us that were out and about pre-aids, experienced some pretty "liberal" ways of life. Some of those people of course now belong to the Herpes friend finders, or STD Friendster services.* You can join one of two memberships, the "Simplex" membership for $49.95 a year, or become a "Complex" member for $79.95/year
*not that there's anything wrong with that of course.

Keith, don't be so possessive !
I don't have much to swap. There's a gorgeous asian woman that moved in a few doors down. I wonder if her husband can use a Sansui quad synth in exchange
Incidently, didn't you mention that your horse was male ? What kind of person do you think I am ?

Intelligent design thread...and then you post a pic of Paris Hilton?
Friend, she is a fine design fersure, but you can leave off the intelligent part when it comes to her.
I need to introduce you to a few cowgals in tight Wranglers and you will forget all about Paris Hilton.
Have you seen the latest Wrangler commercial?...It says it takes 20 years to produce a man, but only twenty seconds to turn him into a fool....The commercial is for womens Wrangler jeans....And they are right on the money with that statement.
Yehaw!

You are so selfish for not sharing your horse after everyone else has been so
generous to you - LMAO

Babs, you just don't understand how it is with a man and his horse. There just ain't no room to share.
A horse, like no other animal, watches your every move and expression...He learns to read you that way. He wants to please you, but gets confused easy...It ain't good to allow several people to handle your horse because of that...He needs to get to know just you.
Come visit some night when I'm out back at 3 AM and me and the horse are together at the camp fire.......I'll do that on really cold nights...I'll build a good fire and sit out there in a lawn chair and sure enuff he will ease up and stand next to me....Then he will nuzzle me and blow softly and rest his head on my shoulder and kinda slumber....He'll start breathing deep and steady and really relax....And that's when I can relax and start seeing things his way, and him my way....and that's when the fire starts to reveal the things I missed that day....That's when I can see and understand the people in my life and ME better...That's when I get square with myself and the rest of the world....and thru it all, it's like he guides me to being a better person....Because horses are pure honesty and can't be fooled....They can read your mind.

Babs, Finally a female I can identify with. A woman of some substance, who appears interesting. You are restoring my faith in the female gender.. I feel a strong bond between you and I...
How about we get together tonight--
...and go hit on some horses, I know this great pickup joint !!!!!!!

Ever pondered a career in writing romance novels Keith ? You've got the copious tears of sensitivity welling down my cheeks again.

All kidding aside, The emotional bond between a person and their pet can be extremely strong. Pet's don't play headgames with their owners, and they remain dependent on their owner throughout their lives. They are always there for you, and the way they interact with the owner is very consistent. You don't get that same guarantee with another human. Seldom do pets betray. Also loss of a pet is agonizing for some too. I certainly didn't intend to demean what Keith was stating in terms of how strong the bond is between pet and owner. Many pets can read our minds. It's scary sometimes. Animals have a sense that people don't. Although I was being a wise-@ss, since alot of our exchanges lately have been in jest, Pet's have enabled me to survive really difficult times during life.
(well the smart pet's play headgames, but that's how they train you)
