Children in schools now are constantly being bombarded by mores or philosophical beliefs usually liberal slanted.. They are being taught to further and further depend on the state to make their decisions.. They are being prescribed huge amounts of mind altering drugs for diseases or psychological defects that didnt exist previously..While it should be the parents responsibility to teach morals, mores, religous beliefs and freedoms, what is your take on recent court decisions?

I personally teach all the monkeys at my karaoke bar that they must evolve into an intelligent design if they ever want to quit being sucky drunken singers!!

This debate over intelligent design ain't nothing new under the sun, it just has a new name.
It has been going on ever since the first two cavemen looked at the stars and started questioning the purpose of their existance and disagreed about it.
All religions since have been based on fear and superstition. Folks first started worshiping the various forces of nature and/or particular objects in our environ, then they eventually began to worship things more abstract. But all worship was driven by fear and ignorance...It was always after suffering that someone became religious.
Religion thusly evolved with Man as he evolved mentally....And always, Man devised some form of punishment against his fellow man whenever anyone disagreed on religious matters....Tribes punished anyone who failed to practice the tribal religion because they feared his sins would cause them all to suffer....
Let's say a particular tribe or society decided that their fate was in the hands of the Sun, because they had observed how their population sufffered whenever the Sun failed to bless their crops and they starved because of it. Or a mountain suddenly erupted into a volcano and killed off half of them, so they decide to worship the mountian volcano as their God....and anyone who failed to do the same was then an enemy of them all-that his actions would make them all suffer the wrath of the volcano or Sun.
Once such beliefs were established and anyone in the tribe rejected that belief, they were considered sinners and an enemy to the whole population.
You see where I am going with this?
Does that mean I am not religious or God fearing?....No.
All I am saying is that what you see happening today is only a continuation of the battles that have been waged forever over religion....And that those battles will be fought until the whole world can agree on several things....Mostly, they will need to agree on that age old question, "Why am I here?"
And they need to understand that throughout history, Man has proven many "Facts" to be wrong and that those discoveries have dispelled many fears....No longer do we believe the Earth is flat, nor do we believe the Sun can become angry with us.
Maybe someday we will finally discover who/what is responsible for our existance and from there decide who/what to worship.

No offense to anyone, but can we keep the religious/social philosophy threads out of the karaoke forum? Hearing 12 drunken "healthy" ladies sing Love Shack or My Heart Will Go On hurts my head enough without having to think about the separation of church and state at the same time.
When I want to wax philospohic I go to the forum below. Check it out and you'll find hundreds of peeps more than willing to argue this point with you!!

hey Karyoker,
i thought you lived in colorado?
no offense, but i thought colorado was a democrat state? this sounds like a very conservative stance and although i generally try to abstain from discussions on politics, religion, and spouses/signifigant others, i must agree with you on most of the points you raise.

why does anyone have to hold a party line just cause their STATE does?
I have the religious and political freedom to do the exact opposite as my neighbors (and I probably do)...

I agree!
Let us all believe what we want, and may we all here continue to communicate openly despite our particular religious beliefs.
- we are talking about. Karaoke is only the science/methods required to allow someone to sing while accompanied by the music of their choice.
Their song can be considered religious or it can be deemed sinful, that doesn't change the science/methods required to do it well.
Let's end this discussion with this wish: That we all here wish that each of us here learn from each other how to sing our songs best...And that we all here respect each other's religions equally....After all, every modern religion does have ONE thing in common, That each religion today demands that you NOT sin against each other.

didn't say you had to, but i was suprised. almost everyone i know from there leans to the left. nothing wrong with it at all. either way. i myself am considered to be a left wing conservative or a right wing liberal. i just try to do what's right by others and to hell with left/right, black/white, democrat/republican, god-fearing/athiest, etc.
didn't mean any harm by the question.

Actually there is a strip about 40 miles wide aong the front range that is no longer Colorado. It has been sold out to big money and yuppies. To those with no morals and the old traditions are a thing of the past..
I am neither liberal or conservative.. I live by the traditions and values from 100 years ago. The state, press, or anything else that tries does not determine our morals, beliefs, or our independence or freedoms. These come from our fathers and their fathers before them...
And an avatar and shallow remarks sure as hell dont intimidate or threaten them either...

And that is why Fathers are under attack today.....They must isolate the children from their fathers to break the chain you describe.
And they are doing it.

Quote: Hey you can all come to Canada where the Supreme Court of Canada just made Wife Swapping and orgies legal.
Some of the on premise private swingers clubs down here survive under church registration and religious freedom... They are in residential neighborhoods and on the weekends party all night. They bother no one with noise etc In fact hardly anybody even knows they are even there....
To each his own......
Edit...... Last month my partner did a gig at a motel in Loveland for a bunch of Adult Friend Finders...

That's not really a new concept in the states. Plato's retreat in NYC, and Swinger's clubs have existed for ages (although the health dept usually ends up shutting them down at some point.) I'm not sure what happens among concentual adults is interfered with by the government, however the venue's allowing such activities would likely get busted for health conditions now-adays. Is it the activity that was illegal ? or the places condoning and housing it ? I'd think Montreal would've had this type stuff for ages.
