Too bad New Years falls on a Saturday this year....I'll be entertaining the masses instead of the traditional torturing of my liver....who else has to work Saturday, December 31, 2005?

We will also be working New Years Eve. Last year the bar had a band who played mostly CCR and there was no crowd to speak of. So Jan 1st. this year I was told that I WILL be working New Years Eve.

I'm doing a private party. The bar owner said he was geting band this year. He told me recently he should have booked me and the band, so I would have been working no matter what.

I always have to work every holiday at my day job....and seeing how it is shift work, then I never plan a holiday night off.

But that's ok cause they pay 30/hour plus a full days pay for working the holiday. I look at every holiday as a $500 day.

Happy holidays!

I took x-mas eve off. I need a break. I will be working the Friday before though.
I need some family time, working every weekend makes it hard to spend much needed time with loved ones.

[font=Comic Sans MS]We get to work New Year's Eve, as we have for the last ?9?!!  I love it!  We are, however, taking off Christmas Eve, it's the only night of the year we have never considered working.  We have worked Christmas Day Evening, that is fun :)

Traditionally on Christmas Eve we have our kids, their spouses, our grandkids and close friends over for cheese, shrimp, etc...  We've been doing that since the kids were young.  Christmas Day the family comes over at some point but by Christmas Day evening we are ready to go & do something....

Happy Holidays to you & yours!
Susie :)

This is my year with the kids, so I didn't book a conventional gig.  Am doing a private party that is "family friendly" - plenty of fun for the kids and adults.  I've done these before, even on "non-kid" years, and they have always been a blast for everyone - kids, parents and other adults without kids.  Really beats the bar routine, IMO.

Yep,

I envy your chance to be with your kids....If ever you feel that once every other year is not enough, then consider what it would be like if it was never.

I wish you all a great New Year.

I'm working NYE as a DJ with video. Never been a fan of Karaoke for NYE. I had the oppertunity to work Xmas eve and day but I had to pass on those.

This is 10 years working on NYE can't pass on a $500+ night for 5 hours.

[font=Comic Sans MS]We just picked up a new show so we will be doing two  new years eves... We won't be doing Christmas eve, but with the new show we'll be running karaoke on the 23rd.

Lots of fun and great destressing for those of us who still aren't ready for Christmas!
