I rarely post a right  after a gig becuase I was back in the real world again...I have a system that rocks.. I know how to enerjize a crowd... I didnt have over 15 singers all night.. But they are hard core singers .. They are not drunks, they tend to go where they sound good, I read these posts here that still think that karaoke singers are   drunks that are trying to have fun... When you have a good system you attract singers that are awesome.. I had singers tonight that would win contests in any part of the country...But that is common at our shows.. Nobody sounds bad on my system, well maybe 1 or 2 sucks....But I can efx them where they dont sound too bad....Another good gig ... I'm goin to bed....

:newlol:  Sounds cool. I've been to a couple of local places here in my town that have mediocre systems, and I just didn't feel comfortable performing.(am I allowed to call it that?) The main problem was, I found myself in a mostly "country crowd" and it was hard to be myself as usual when I knew they didn't like what I was trying to do. But, as soon as I did "Lone Star" "Amazed", some chickadee afterwards was asking me to dance. I didn't have my wife with me and felt uneasy, so I said...I'm sorry hun, I shouldn't even be in here, I'm married.    What a dork. It was just a dance.... :newlol:
The other place I went into was in a strip mall with a movie cinema next door and the KJ couldn't crank up the sound enough to a full-on "party" level because the cinema complains? ERRRRRRRRRNT!! Lost my business.
I'm sure there are other clubs in the town I live in, but, I don't venture out much....I don't drink and drive, my DL is my livelihood, that would be stupid. The problem is, if I'm going out, I want to have a few drinks, not just 1 or 2, so I usually choose none at all.
Also, I'm not the typical loud mouth belligerent drunk, I typically mind my own business and don't mingle much. Mingling is when the trouble starts...(jealous BFs, loud mouth drunks, etc...)
I really like the place where I karaoke because, 1) The KJ has a decent system, 2) I only have to walk down the hall back to my room, 3) The crowd is cool with all music, 4) The locals recognize me.
My next chance to attend is Tue. 13th, and Wed. 21st so I'm looking forward to it. I just hope I don't have any voice problems like last time. I went, but didn't want to sing. The KJ convinced me try one towards the end of the night, and I wasn't up to it, been sick lately, and the d*mn cigarettes are killing me for sure.  :(  :newlol:

amigo...that's how ours is. Yes...as the evening progresses..some get tipsy..but good lord...you should hear them. Our owner..his bankers wife..her name is Judy...she gets up..the bar goes quiet. She is a phenom...i have a friend named Dino..who has a cool rasp to his voice...so many...

Some drunks to get up to sing...and they're so funny...and that adds to the fun we have. As i point out...i get paid to party...and i like it. All of it.

I find when I get home from a gig I'm wound up. It takes me a while before I can go to sleep. Usually I get off of work around 3am., so it makes for a long night.

Great news for me at last nights gig. The bar owner gave me a most needed x-mas present. I have my own bouncer - yeah!!!!!!!!!  I was having a lot of problems especially on Fridays. It is a small bar with way to many people in it. I have any where from 20- 30 singers. After 2 Fridays in a row having patrons protect me and even getting into a fight I had a talk with the bar owner and he came through for me.

I've had everything from drunk people knocking over equipment, demanding people not understanding a fair rotation, and guys man handling me. I've had my butt grabbed, I've been shoved into my amp for not turning a screamers mic louder, I've been threatened and pushed around to long.

I really believe being a girl doesn't help. There are some guys that still think woman can be pushed around. I'm sure if I was a 6 foot buff guy I wouldn't have half the problems I do. Yeah for the bar owner!!

That's terrible!! Very unappreciative.

The KJ where I go has her buff boyfriend there most of the time to discourage the riff-raff before that crap ever happens.
Some guys need a good poundin' to correct the err of their ways.
Congrats on the new bodyguard.
