AH HA HA HA HA HA!!
I just downloaded Audacity and heard myself sing for the first time ever.
It wasn't bad, but................the program seemed like it was skipping? Like the CDG was skipping? It wasn't skipping as I was singing (or attempting to sing ).
Doesn't look like I'm going to have a sub at this rate. The only CDG I have is an Anthology of Pearl Jam, and the music for the songs I like sounds like it was played by someone other than Pearl Jam.
Maybe I didn't do the whole thing right?
I used the mic for the computer to sing into as the karaoke machine was playing.
Anyhow, AH HA HA HA HA HA!! LMMFAO!!

As to the music it WASNT played by Pearl Jam--but a studio band reproducing it. Skipping-id clean the disc and then clean the cdg player with a cleaner disc. But send what ya got---it dont matter. We just want to HEAR you. This AINT AMERICAN IDOL AND SIMON WILL NOT BE LISTENING!
But AUDACITY is really cool and easy to use.

And it's always the ones who won't get up and have a go who are doing the pointing and laughing in my experience.

I wrote that American Idol sucked, but I kind of liked watching it anyway. There were some talented people filtering through the masses.
I don't totally suck, (IMO) and I would submit my recording, but it's a poor quality sub, and I'd have to try to doctor the missing pieces where it was cutting out....especially the "Tarzan" part at the end.

I liked American idol. People always tell me I should enter. They don't make a senior idol, hahaha. I'm to old. I can carry a tune, but I don't think my voice is unique. I probably sound like a million other people.
My favorite to watch was "Making the Band" (MTV show). Very well done and they put those girls through hell. You have to be able to dance, sing, and have the right look. Amazing the amount of talent they found.

Hey Badsinger, you better guard your title. You've got competition !
(I wasn't aware Audacity was something you downloaded. I've just got it..
Last few times I was trying to sing, a few neighbor's knocked on my door,
and when I opened the door, they said "You've got the audacity to be singing in public".)

Jeanne ! No need to apologise ! I need a following if I'm going to take the show on the road :oh yeah:
Badsinger, I need to psychologically prepare myself for our "showdown". I like you, and respect you, and don't really want to strip you of your dignity like this. Are you resilient enough to rebound ? Do you have earplugs ? I've heard you sing BadSinger, and I know you aren't prepared to challenge me. I know your vulnerabilities. I already know you don't stand a chance competing against me. You're good.
Walk before it's too late to save face !
If I enter a submission in SS how will I know just how badly I really suck though ? With the ranking systems dishonesty, what if some liar gives me a 3 or better ? God forbid, what if someone is sarcastic enough to give me an even higher score :(

Hey PCornell So your still having some problems with audacity? I do know of another really good program that Keepingitcntry told me about. It was originally called cool edit pro and was just recently bought out by Adobe. Now it goes under the name Adobe Audition 1.5 They also have a free one month trial version with no limitations and you can find it at www.download.com I found it worked really great. I just wish I was still able to use it cause I'm starting to have problems with the one I'm using now. Good luck hope you try it.
As for your singing give it a chance we'd love to here it no matter what program you use. We're our own worst critic which I learned from some really great people here. By the way I love watching American Idol, its so refreshing to listen to so many young talented artists and would love to listen to some of your recordings too. Start Posting those songs now XXXXXXX's Monica

Come out and get youself a mic, Stevie, and stop the talk; just sing. See if you can beat my best sub ( which mean/read Bad), that is still at SS. You wont be able to beat that for tempo and pitch.
LOL LOL

OK, Compared to me, you're Julio iglesias. The offer still stands, I heard your sub, and I have even more evidence that I can kick your butt ! You can still walk Badsinger, and salvage your title. It's not too late ! Very few have been blessed with the gift I have !
But if you're serious, let me get in touch with local EPA, and see if I can get the court imposed injunction lifted banning me from coming within 10 feet of a microphone. (I was interfering with the migratory patterns of wildlife in my state)
Anyway, If anyone needs me just knock on my monitor. I'll be in the next room preparing my KS one year speech, the 3rd is only a few days away. I Have alot of writing to do !

You guys...............LMMFAO!!
I'm sorry Badsinger, I didn't get to listen to your sub, I'll do that as soon as possible, but I don't critique anyhow, so don't expect any lies from me!!
Steve, you can't be that terrible? Does your voice sound like Mike Tyson, George Costanza, or Stone Cold Steve Austin? (I know, strange array of characters...that's all I could think of. )
Hi Monicaoolala. Thanks for the link and assistance. I found a download called ProTools Free that is suppose to work with Windows ME, but I haven't had much time to fool with it yet. It seems to work without locking up, but I haven't figured out how to record with it yet. It seems I need to read the whole tutorial before I can use it. Now my mic on my karaoke machine is broken, so I have to buy another mic!! Must've not liked my voice too well!!
But the computer mic still works if I could just figure out the software. I do have one terrible sub already. Haven't had many requests for more punishment!!

Not Costanza or Austin. Sort've like Fran Drescher, Tyson, and Alfalfa of the little rascal's (on a good day).
Get ready for the big event Bad Singer, I've been practicing Cool Change by the "Little River Band", and I'll have alot of time to practice now. All the neighbor's have For Sale signs up, and have boarded up their window's. (I didn't know this winter's been quite that bad) <shrug>

Aww - Steve - I believe there is a song for everyone. It is just finding
that special song just for you. There are a lot of songs that are in
sort of a talking singing range that work for a lot of people. If all else fails
do "Tequila" hee hee.
