Just read in the newspaper yesterday about a murder that happened in London.  Apparently a 21 year old male was doing karaoke and impressed this 26 year old female law student so much with his performance of an Eminem song that they started hanging out together.

At some point later on (not the same day) the guy beat the woman to death with a baseball bat at his apartment.  He told police he was under the influence of PCP and other drugs at the time.

Careful who you pick up at the karaoke bar, kids.

Hate to hear that. It would be really sick & twisted if he was singing an Eminem song like "Stan", and then they hooked up after that.

Had to get an order of protection against a girl I dated that I met at one of my shows about three years ago, but that London story just takes it to a whole new level of scariness.

I can't help but wonder about a gal that would be interested in someone that does Eminem anyway! sheesh!

With all dating, there's a measure of responsibility, and ultimately, a chance that the person you meet is gonna go wacko! Took five years for mine to do that. DOUBLE sheesh. At least I'm still alive and the nards are intact! !

Mabye at the apartment he was singing michael jackson ( beat it) and got carried away with it. or "put me in cold " by John fogarty".

I never fool with drugs. It's hard enuff to deal with a woman when I'm sober.

All my ex's are assured a very safe and long life cause I never fight with them....I just open the door wide as they leave and yell "Next!"

I was singin out at the Fort one nite ... One of my ex girl friends came in .. Arnold the security at the door went over to greet her..  She said that ol man is gonna sing Makin Believe.. Arnold said wat if he doesnt want to?   She pulled a 44mag out of her purse and said then I'll shoot that sob... Arnold pointed to the left said wat's that when she looked he grabbed the pistol..  I walked over later and asked him why they threw her out He told me i said holy s**** I didnt mess with her anymore....

and probably the girl as well. And people still think it's cool to do drugs. Anyone who is involved in drugs should burn in hell, that's what they deserve.

If I can take a stand similar to Bill Hicks, toss your Doors, Beatles, and Hendrix and other cool songs in the trash because the people who made those songs were rrrrrrrrrrreallllllyyyyyy effin high on drugs.

Drugs caused my little Bro to commit suicide, but I was hoping the Lord would forgive him anyway under the circumstances.

Seriously though, all I've ever tried was marijuana....it's a hoot with some beer.

My sister was Murdered In NYC over a bad drug Deal, They beat her with a bat and left her.
It's best to just stay away.....from Drugs....seen many good looking women age before My Eyes Using Coke.

However to each there own Just don't be breaking into my house to support your habbit.

You were able to find blonde, or red Leb in the mid-80's ?  I couldn't find it after around 1980-1981.  Nor could I find Thai stick either.. Anyway, decided at that time it was time to straighten up.. Booze, hypodermic needles, and horse tranq's all became history.



Careful WHENEVER you pick up someone you don't really know that well. Thing is, you hear about such stories because this type of event is EXTREMELY rare. I grew up during the "free love" era, and as a touring musician lived years of one-nighters WAY BACK, many around my age did. I suppose college aged kids still think they are invincible, and often indulge in promiscuity on compuses even still. Whether the meeting place of this ominous event was a Karaoke bar, or ANYWHERE for that matter, statistically horrible things occassionally happen. This could've been a person the girl had met at church, or on the internet, single's club, dating service, etc.. How many of the intricate details do we know about anyway regarding these types of cases ? More frequently event's like this happen involving two people that HAVE known one-another. Could've been a spouse she's known for years in a domestic quarrel. Could've been a declarated husband and father (Dr. Jeff McDonald story). I suppose what I'm trying to say, is that abuse situations happen alot, and unfortuneately when drugs, alcohol, and unstable situations arise, acts of passion aren't uncommon and people die.. This "pub" case just got publicity because it is in fact so atypical. Yet to allow such an infinitesimally small chance of a random event to stifle you from taking certain chances IMHO makes about as much sense as not wanting to get your mail, because a serial killer, or drive-by sniper might kill you; Or some gorgeous female supermodel drops a date-rape drug into your beer when you aren't looking, and knocks you up in the bar parking lot against your will. Or like near to where I live, A woman get's shot to death at close range by a stalker who followed her to a remote location that she liked to jog in. Still a cold case, motive unknown..

You just never know.. If it's not one thing, something else will get you in time, no way to prevent the random and bizarre events that you "hear about" from happening.  :no:

For every one girl that happens to get murdered by a whacko, How many couples meet, fall in love, and marry after meeting at Karaoke bars ?
