hi everyone
i am new to the site and in many ways to the world of karaoke. however i do have a small recording studio in fl. i run analog on tascam ms16, from a soundcraft spirit studio then from the deck to the pc with 16 analog ins to protools le. what i am trying to figure out is which way to turn in trying to build a karaoke system. I have good comp. of live music and my sound reinforcement needs and wants, having played live for many years. now what i would like to do is come up with a system to do prerecorded performances with live vocals. i guess the meat of my inquiry is whether to go computer based or deck based. i have been toying with the idea of a vocopro 8000 or 4000 deck, but i ran across this usb attachment called a dac2, which looks very similar to the control unit of a two piece deck like with the vocopro 8000 or cdn25+g. does anyone have any experience with either? i know that the dac2 works with the same companies software which i think is similar to pcdj. if i am not greatly mistaken it is the same company. i also want to be able to use this with other vocalists, especially in the studio and need to have the graphics instead of printing out lyrics for the songs. my s6tudio is becoming paper jammed and i have only been doing this new recording technique for two or three weeks. what i have been doing is recording my own original music for which i do everything. i am going this new route as i don't want to have to spend excess energy on recording cover songs. could y'all give me suggestions on which way to proceed, including what you think of the vocopro mixers, like the kjm 7000 or 8000. thanks,
phil
