 Yo John....I contacted a rep from Numark, explained your situation, and he stated that "a supplier had a QC (quality control) problem" and they have since remedied that situation. Hopefully, yours as well. Just thought you might want to know ( I promised this guy I wouldn't give out his name.....but....got any money  :twisted:?!).

I bought it new on ebay but because the supplier is not an authorized dealer  I'm S .O .L. hopefully I can get it fixed cheap or there will be a numark for sale

    Caught your post this A.M.! The manufacturers warranty should take care of any repairs REGARDLESS of where you bought it. Just send a copy of your receipt and a note explaining the problem when you ship it.
  I thought it would have been taken care of by now...why'd you wait so long??!!

kinda gave up hope when numark told me that in order for the unit to be covered it must have been bought from an authorized dealer ( he was very specific about not from ebay )

 I believe you have a receipt from the name of the store you bought it from off of ebay .....right? So, you don't just say I got this from ebay...you say the name of the store....ebay shouldn't even come into play. The unit was new, unopened, NOT re-furbished...right? If that's the case, Numark has to ( by warranty law) repair the unit as long as the warranty has not expired. Also, when you get it back, I believe the warranty is extended from the day of repair to encompass the original length of the warranty. ( 3, 6, 9, 12 months etc.)

Not really so with some manufacturers.....eBay has become to etailers what WalMart is to storefronts.

Legit etailers like zzsounds, musiciansfriend and many others are being undercut by eBay sellers. ...And eBay sellers come and go and hardly ever assist the buyer with problems after the purchase. The manufacturer owes it to his storefront dealers and etailers to help provide a level playing field.....So an increasing number of makers are refusing to honor warranties from eBay sales...Their reason is often due to the questionable handling, storage and distribution many eBay sellers practice...

AND more and more, lots of stolen stuff ends up on eBay.....Even tho it might be new and in the original box, that doesn't mean it wasn't lifted off the back of a truck or part of a whole shipment of stolen merchandize....Quite often new merchandize is obtained with stolen credit cards/identy theft is then sold on eBay.
