Kind of funny story. Sometimes we do a gender bender, where you choose a song sung by someone of opposite sex. We try to keep it light but sometime we will pick some extreme opposite songs, like my friend who sang "I am woman, hear me roar" with an "attitude".

Anyways, I have this friend who is gay and on that particular night he picked "It's raining man" to sing for gender bender. I don't know why but I had to control myself from laughing, along with my other friend who knew he was gay. It just was the right mood and the way he sang it I guess. I thought it was so funny.

Oh man I have experienced proformers like that but not on a dare.  I have to say it's awkward at best.

NOT that if a person can sing a song well and they do; that's one thing but, if not it's sung well then it's often  into the awkward side of things imo.

BTW I do do some Carpenters,  Sweet Dreams eurythmics, and Waterloo Abba well.  I am respected when I do these songs yet I know better than sing some songs in some places.

Like any of the above or any Elton John in a couple redneck bars I go to once in a while.

I learned the hard way ; I mean doing an elton john song like crocodile rock doesn't mean a person is Gay.  Still I got told to get the hell out of the bar that night one redneck after another... For Crocodile Rock and I do that very well!

BTW I am not Gay...  Nor do I have a problem with people who are.

LOL! I'd have told the rednecks that if my singing Elton John tweaked their homophobe bones, then THEY are the ones with latent gay issues, not me.

Course, I'm big enough to back up that statement.

And I work in a biker bar! LOL!

it wasn't the elton john song that tweaked their homophobe buttons matt... it was more of the sequine blue dress with 6 inch red stillettos that your were wearing that kinda freaked em out... offering the bikers a chance to "sail the wild blue yonder" after the song was over was the topper... - tig

Nothing major except regularly finding that the karaoke version of a song I think I can sing is considerably higher in pitch than my limited range can manage.  Done a few very squeaky versions of songs!
