OK,  so I am sensing strong support for Chicago, which is cool because it's such an awesome city, I have been up there countless times. I guess another question would be what we would want in terms of venue.  I guess we could either find a bar that is having karaoke that night, or more ideally, find a facility we could rent out for the night.

       I'm sure with all the KJ's floating around here, we would have that area covered, plus we wouldn't have to worry about sharing with a bar full of people.  Of course this would cost money, so that would be the downside.......... ....But I could probably cover those costs upfront, and then if everyone pitched in a little, like say 20 bucks, that would probably cover me, unless of course only 2 people show up ................Something to think about.

Hmmmmmmm, so funny Chicago being mentioned as I'm planning a business trip there within the next few months that could EASILY be delayed til summer!!  Count me in Nathan and probly Steve as well.

As far as equipment and discs feel free to add my stash to the lot as well--I have over 100,000 songs on cdg and with some of the others I'm sure what I don't have someone will!  Find a venue and possible dates and looks like we've got a great party comin' on!

Nathan  So happy you are trying to organize something.  I am definitely in!!  I would so love to meet all my SS singing buddies.   Doesn't matter to me where it is held, I'll be there!!  I am fortunate enough to be able to travel just about anywhere. (Airline passes).  Chicago does sound like a good spot to me, especially if that would mean that you would be setting it up, I know you would do a super job.

I don't think one night would do the trick, it would be over too fast.  I would suggest 2 nights, you know, make it a weekend , Friday nite to Sunday afternoon.  I mean, if people are going to be travelling a long distance, it makes sense to make it worth their while.

Can't we just kinda borrow a bar for just our own private party.  Long as we pay the drinks, they make their money.  We do it out here in Montreal, mind you, I am talking a smaller bar. (80- 100 people)

So hoping this happens, it would be so wonderful to meet the people I have come to know and care for.....and to actually hear them sing in person.  Total happiness!!  :)

Ok, well parts of this thread have gotten a little off topic, , but I certainly do not intend on dropping the ball in regards to this event. Now it seems to me that the majority of folks are in agreement with Chicago, and Cindy  Thanks so much for throwing some ideas out here, you are certainly right, we would probably need to make it more of a weekend deal, and it would obviously be more convenient to hold the event at a bar, thanks for the ideas.... so please people, I am serious about this, let me know your thoughts, I will start researching venues, and see what I can come up with and let you all know........ And hey Tom, I would certainly be happy to accept  any assistance you could offer up, so let's try to keep in touch through email, you can contact me through my profile for now.......And Cathi, even if we do end up holding this event at a bar with a KJ already in place, I am sure your collection would still come in handy, so thanks for offering, you and Steve will love Chicago.  Ok so if anyone has additional input, please let me know, summer is a ways off, but it will be here before you know it, and I would really like to see this take shape, thanks   Nathan.........BTW, will someone PLEASE tell me how you do that quote thing, I have been trying to figure out how to do that for months, I must be overlooking something very obvious, haha, thanks..........

with ALL HTML and BB Codeing, you have a beginning code and an ending code. It's simple mathmatics, really. (do the stuff in the parenthesis! !).

for this site, it uses [ brackets ] for the bboard coding.

Like Charmin said, if you click on the "quote", it'll start the process. Also when you are TYPING a response, you'll see seven little boxes above the main typing area. As well as Font editing ones below that.
