I'm aware most people complain about vocopro units.
I have mixed feelings about my unit has some useful and unique features as Digital Key control, divX 6.xx compatibility,vga port, and good quality audio outputs. plus the ability (figured it out with them, to put over 2000 cd+g songs in a DL dvd disc)
Let's talk about the issue,Once a While, let's say once every three days after 2 hours playing dvd/karaoke content, when it comes back to the main menu or you hit the backward button on the remote control, you get a "fantastic" pixelate screen.  :( unreadable and only solution is to turn it off, and then turn in on..after that will play fine for some time.

I tested it with component, svideo and composite cables.

I reported this particular issue to vocopro tech support guy Michael G. with no answer.
My first report was about the resolution limit. If you spend  $300 in a unit, shouldn't you expect to play Divx HD Content??? then they figured out, it has a resolution limit of 720 X 576 for Divx Content. Dissapointed. I should have bought the I-O data AVeL Linkplayer2 and save $50 bucks(not sure if will play cd+g discs).

I only have 2 days left on the 30/30 guitar center warranty. I'm going to ask for a credit and try to get a Vocopro DVG-555K ???.

Other complains: Poor mic input quality, currently using a mackie 1604 VLZ, crown xls 402, alesis sumo 300 and couple alesis Alesis ProVenue 1501 PA speakers for karaoke sessions and getting outstanding results. So basically paying for some features won't use. I simply can't afford to get an error like this one on live again!.
I have a bunch a DVD karaoke discs and couldn't ripped them, that's why my replacement unit has to be able to play DVD discs. Any ideas what would be a good DVD/cd+g player for professional use ??

I have a CAVS 203G that I'm pretty happy with.  It will read CDG's but slowly.  In other words it takes bit to cue up but plays them correctly. It doesn't support DIVX 6.x but it does support DIVX 5.x, 4.x, and 3.11.  The DIVX resolution it supports are 720*480@30fps or 720*576@25fps.  This is pretty typical of most consumer DIVX compatible players.  My 203G was just over $200 and has held up quite well - even with being hauled all over while tipped on it's side.

If you just need a cheap DVD player that will play back CDG's check into the Coby 615 unit.  I paid less than $50 for mine.  Works well for even the faster playing tracks but sometimes the color is 'off'.

No, they aren't rack mount, but they're both reasonable solutions.

Check out this unit, specially if you want a rack mount solution. I have two of them in my rack. It's new so I can't give you any history on the unit but on spec it looks pretty good. It's fairly rugged built and I prefer the single tray over it's 6 tray version. It plays both CD-G and DVD very well and sound quality seems pretty good. One weakness I see is the seek time but having two units, I can queue up and cut that time down. It's only $150. Not too bad.

Personally, I still prefer the JVC even though it is not rack mounted per-se. I used this one, shelf-mounted before switching to PC hosting

But the RSQ are now rack mountable with the an adapter from RSQ. I plan on getting some to mount mine.

And there's an answer to a good machine! Thankx Greg
