Would you buy 2 JBL Eon10 G2 and a Mackie DFX (6/12) mixer or Fende Audio PD-250?  Would you suggest something else?  My budget is less than $1500.00.  I just need a mixer/amp/speakers ( not microphone or player), and this is for home use, not professional.

Get the JBL's and the Mackie.  You'll get much better Base response.

If it's for home use, and you don't plan on going professional you could probably get away with the Fender PD-150.  Another alternative along this line is the Peavey Escort 2000 product (but I still prefer the Fender line!).

If you intend to upgrade your home set up to use external effects, compressors, and the like you'll need an external mixer.  Just so you know I own a Fender PD-250 and it's GREAT for small karaoke shows provided you only want some basic reverb on the voice (and/or the entire mix) and you don't plan on expanding to professional shows in the near future.  Keep in mind that you won't get earth shattering bass from the unit but for home use you should be pleasantly surprised.  The best part is you can always get the battery pack for it and do 'remote' shows (provided you can run the karaoke discs from a battery operated unit as well).  Note that the Fender doesn't provide 48V phantom power if you plan on using condensor mics (most people don't - for home use anyway).

I'd go with:
MACKIE SRM350 $550 each
YAMAHA MG12-4FX MIXER $270

Total: $1370

The mackie speakers have great bass response, and better construction than the JBL's. I have a number of JBL Speakers, I switched to mackie for the better frequency response.

The Yamaha mixer has better mic pre amps than the less expensive mackies(DFX), and lower signal to noise ratio. The Mackie CFX and Onxy are completelt different the dfx.

I think the Peavy is not a very good product.

The Yamaha MSR400 has been redesigned and is a decent product but is the mackies are still a better product.

Best thing i can advise is take a trip to you local guitar center and listen to all of the powered speakers and see what you like.

What I did was buy JBL EON P-1 speakers, Mackie 1402 VLZ Pro and Alesis Midiverb 4 combination and it sounds great. If you shop around on ebay, you can probably get a pair of EON 15 G2 - $1100 (15" model, the 10" model EON 10- G2 is even cheaper), Mackie 1202 VLZ Pro - $150 (12 channel not 14 like 1402) and Alesis Midiverb 4 - $100 for a total of about $1500. I love the sound on my system and I would highly recommend it.

Musicians friend has some really nice Yamaha package deals for less than your budget. Most sound really good for the money.

You could always go with the B-52 Matrix 1000 system.  $800 online and when you add in a mixer you still have money left over for speaker stands and effects.  That's complete with a seperate 15" sub and 700 watts of power.

Add in a mixer like the DFX-12 w/ built in effects and you still have $400 left and great sound.  Buy yourself 24 SoundChoice Spotlights with the leftover money and sing your hear out!
