I have the VCD version of AP and is local; just about 4min short. Surely thereis a CGD version out there.

Not just for karaoke but as a DJ I find people get bored with songs longer than 3 1/2 or 4 minutes

I wonder about songs with long intros.  My feeling is that a long intro helps the audience and me get the feel of the song, taking some pressure off my singing ability.  What do you think?

I know of one KJ who claims to have a version of Iron Butterfly's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" that comes in at just over 17 minutes.  Personally, if someone ever slipped that one to the KJ, I'd be needing a drool rag to sit through that.

Incidentally, the original song is 45 minutes... Groan!

Personally, long intro's make me insane (Hotel California, anyone?), but big long breaks in the middle make me even crazier.  At least at the beginning of the song you have something to do, like talk to the KJ or something...I never know what to do in the middle....

The original version (well the original album release) clocks in at 17:05.  1 side of an album.  At the time (well even now) an album side could not contain much more than that.  But unless the kj in question made his own, it has never been done for karaoke in it's entirety.  The only 2 versions that I know of are Sound Choice 8540 & SAV/NuTech SAVP22 which is not the entire version.  Both of these are radio edits approx 4-5 min long.
