I could have ditto'd most of your post except for this line. I don't mind competition, competition helps strengthen our own faults or makes us improve the overall image of our own show, what I do mind is low ballers & people doing it "for the love of it" or "for fun" & undermining the entire industry as a whole by "selling out" for free or for beer money & screwing up the legitimacy of the business - this is NOT competition in any sense. The excuse "well the clubs are small & can't afford much" isn't a valid one, if they are too small to turn a profit by paying for a quality company, then they probably shouldn't be providing entertainment in the first place. A quality company that charges accordingly will bring the clients in to pay for themselves AND make it worth while for the club to justify the entertainment expense.
