Part of my love of what SS gives the avid music enthusiast is allow others, some trying to accomplish the same types of expertise as others.  And in a respectful manner, these meembers offer each others bits of their wisdom and advice.  I find this to be an extremely valuable facet of the service SS offers.

One reason I am here, is I am trying to get the art of mixing vocals and sound together.  One of the key features I thought I had downpat was recording quality.  Today a member somehow knew that I had uploaded a song at High Quality 32 Bit Rate, and mentioned that it didn’t sound as good as if it were to have been recorded at a higher Bit Rate.

Hopefully the member who posted the comment might see this post and respond also.  I don't really like emailing or PM'ng persons here without knowing that's it ok. :o)

In my experience online I have never noticed the difference before, and am really unsure how in this forum, one could even distinguish this???

Could some other knowledgeagle souls shed some light on this for me.  I am extremely interested in what others have to say.

~~~Randy
That was me, Yes you sub most of your songs at 32 kbps which is way too low a bit rate. Since most of your songs are about 3min + you should aim for a higher bit rate which will give you a better sound. One should aim for a bit rate of 192 which will give an almost CD qulity sound. Depending on your membership status you should aim for bit rate nearest to your full quota. Try it, you will find that your song will sound better.
To do those converstion I use dBPowerAMP Music Converter.You may want to try it out and its free. Get it from http://www.dbpoweramp.com/
Your song "Somebody love you" is 3min 52sec long compressed at a bit rate of 32kbps and the file size is 926kb only. If you sub a file size 4mb you will have a better sounding song. And at that file size you will be at 160kbps or better.
I am very glad you stopped by and replied seriously.  I am going to have to try this theory out so I can see the difference.  I had never experimented with the various bit rates previously and thought that listening to 32 bit rate side by side with higher bit rates sounded similar.  I have always used lower bit rates when posting on the internet anyway because of most web sites size constraints.
Sir, i really appreciate your pointing this out to me, and tonight when I experiment and find that you are right, you will definitely notice an improved sound next time you visit.  Thank you again.
