Soundchoice.com will allow you to make custom CD+g's for $4 a song. There are a few other sites but I don't know how legal they are...

Big Mike,
I was making a joke. But I guess you support free downloads of MP3+G's? So step up and tell him where you go to get your free music.....

Greg--I buy all my music thank you very much.  I just get a kick out of guys like you who get all bent out of shape about piracy.

I look at piracy just like any other crime.  I know it exists, but I choose not to participate.

I'll do a little research though and see if I can't find someplace to download freebies.  I'm willing to bet that most of what is there is crappy midi quality stuff but who knows.  Maybe I'll stumble across King Solomon's mines!

Just promise you won't sic KAPA on me!   LMAO

Actually, you can easily download over 50,000 tracks online from a variety of sources with good rips of discs.  Figure 128kbps or better mp3's and standard CDG files to accompany them.  Yes there is lots of midi crap out there but lots of pirated stuff out there as well.  As a former pirate I can tell you that there is lots of quality stuff out there - I just no longer participate as well.

The KAPA site is useful to explain piracy and to show what 'could' happen.  They haven't done anything in years but like the SPA they are there and 'could' do something if they were properly funded and assisted by law enforcement.  Just because an agency/group is useless in their mission doesn't mean the information on the site is useless.

Oh well....  As already mentioned there are a couple places you can order mp3+cdg files as was mentioned.  You can also order files for the xbox and rip them to mp3+cdg files.  Information is available online by doing a search on google (I was looking at the possibility of going the other way at one point).

If you're looking for friendly advice, you will have to sift through the rest of the BS that people will throw in. There are certain people here that will turn around and chase you out of the village with hay-forks if you even dare mention the word download. What a lot of peoplpe here do not realise, is that you can actually legally download good quality custom disks.

I wish you well in your search, but be afraid, be very afraid, there are some real pirates on this website, who will attack you when you use certain keywords.

Here's a sample of words NOT to use:
download - music - pirate - illegal - prepared to pay (that raises an eyebrow, people will think you are justifying yourself)

ya need to clarify what piracy and illegal mean- if they pay for the karaoke songs, one way or another,  then that is ok (despite the fact that format shifting is technically illegal they still justify this as legal) and piracy of any other sort is ok and ignored... this covers operating systems on these "legal" show machines, using keygens, cracks and serials off the net to bypass demos and restricted programs, videos or mp3's used for mix music and visual entertainment... please check sarcasm meter before responding LOL - tig

Yup... pretty full!

Last I heard, this was a karaoke site... and when we speak (normally) about piracy in regards to karaoke, what they're talking about is the the harm of the karaoke manufacturers.

Not Microsoft...

I can see how it applies to kjpro, mtu, sax, etc...

so narrow minded matt... you don't think that the piracy of those other programs, microsoft included, enables the piracy of the karaoke material??? do you really believe that one does not create the other??? do you really think that the multi-rig shows and pirate outfits and the "legal shows" that pirate these other "non karaoke programs", pay the hundreds to thousands of dollars for the software and only pirate the karaoke stuff??  LMAO what do you think really happens on Mirc/Myriad??? a bunch of "friendly to the manufacturers" individuals getting together to discuss how to be "legal"??? every track uploaded and downloaded IS piracy on there Matt, is your head THAT far in the sand in denial of it??? doesn't that hurt your precious manufacturers??? do you think without the pirated operating systems and other "non karaoke" programs (burning software, ripping software, karaoke builder, Mirc, cracks, serials, keygens etc) that multi riggers wouldn't exist???  do you really believe a "legal" show can exist with legit karaoke tracks and other pirated material? isn't that a conflict of morals and ethics??? does the means in which someone gets their "legit" stuff justify the end? apparently it does.... this is kinda like a drug dealer who gets caught dealing drugs on the street corner and when his house gets raided, he claims the drug lab and stash at his house is for his personal use and therefore isn't against the law... right... or if that was too cryptic,  if an enterprise is created by illegal means or is tainted from the beginning, everything that is created or is a byproduct of that illegal enterprise is tainted too.... the mob did plenty of community service and did a lot of "legit" business to cover up what went on behind the scenes... Gotti was a fricken public hero but it didn't change what he did or how he got to where he was... but I am sure he paid for all his karaoke tracks...

as far as your statement about what piracy on these boards normally means about hurting the manufacturers... wow ... news to me..  the majority of the references on this board, to the pirates, are ones where it is KJ's losing shows, being underbid and undercut, unable to compete with 50,000 song instant libraries, multi riggers etc, KJ's who can't compete with pirates who are able to download the newest hits or individual requests on demand, or KJ's who are technically challenged and unable to rip their legally owned disks to PC to be able to compete in a digital business model.... reference to the manufacturer's loss is more over on Soundchoice's butt kissing forum or on the Jolt forum, but even on those forums the damage and cost of piracy is carried by the KJ... the manufacturers need to only change their business models to compete, what can a "legal" kj do to compete with a pirate??? they can't and all you have to do is read these forums and understand that...

Tigrr27, as much as I have to agree with you, and at the same time find your statements very amusing, I do think you are peeing in the wind. It's a waste of time. The reality of your statements are being frowned upon, for the simple reason that you say it the way it is.

Many of our dear friends on this forum who preach anti-piratism I think are closet-pirates. God, I wish I could scan through their boxes of self-burned CD's and hard disk drives. Oh sure, no pirated CDG tracks (so they claim, even just for the occasional home use), but where does their OS come from or any of the other software? Do they truly own everything software related? I seriously doubt that.
