Hi all - often when I'm listening to people's submissions my Internet Explorer crashes. Does anyone else have this problem, and is there a solution at all?

Thanks,

Heather

Nope! - don't have that problem.

That is strange...

I'll see what I can find.

One possiblity is: A slow internet connection and/or modem coupled to a not-so-new computer will prevent you from getting satisfactory 'streaming' audio. This may cause it to crash.

Another: MalWare, SpyWare, etc...
Try installing: BHODemon (FREE)  It can catch those problems as well as help prevent them. www.majorgeeks.com/download3550.html

Try this:
Most modern Browsers are already set up to play MP3s. You may however need to "fine-tune" your settings, plug-ins installed etc.

If you have more than one audio player on your computer you should assign each one as the default player for specific audio files. Use your Realaudio player to listen to the Realaudio files. Use MP3, Windows Media or QuickTime players to listen to MP3 files. Using your Realaudio player to listen to MP3 files may cause a minor crash in the audio software and you may have to shut down the program.

Hope that helps... Maybe someone else can shead some light!

I don't have a prob with IE crashing or anything... but ever since the server was transferred, I've been noticing when listening to subs that all of them will stop abruptly about 30 seconds in.  There's a 2-5 second pause, and then the song will resume where it left off.  Nothing major really, just odd.

Of course this could very well have something to do with the fact that I generally have 5 webpages open, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Audition, 3 spyware programs, Outlook and a host of other background programs running all at the same time.  Not to mention I'm not exactly maxed out on RAM here.... LOL
