Hello all! I've been lurking in these forums reading for a while now and decided to actually sign up and introduce myself.
I'm not a KJ, just love to sing. I've been singing forever - studied in every genre of music, but my love is really country and rock - go figure. (oh and I love swing and jazz) Anyway.... I sing in a cover band and use karaoke as a great way to practice the songs before getting with the band.
I've really enjoyed reading some of the posts - you all seem like nice, genuine people and I hope to get to know you all better.
Thanks!
Heather

Hi Diva, Welcome to KS, and be sure to sub some of your songs. I dont normaly do country but mostly classic rock and pop. Enjoy,.............

Thanks Badsinger! Quick question - what do you use to "sub"? I mean, do you have a studio with ProTools and all that, or is there an easier to use software program that people prefer? I'd love to sub something and just get into the swing of it - what I've heard has been a lot of fun!

Any tracking software will do. All you need is a backing track loaded to your tracker and basically sing and record to track 2.
For a free download I use KRISTAL, http://www.kreatives.org/kristal/
or you may want to use Audacity. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Or you may already have a tracking program in your pc ,then use that.

I actually have a studio with ProTools, but if I want to lay down something simple, that's a few hour project, so I'd rather find something easy.
I'm gonna check out that Krystal thing - thank you so much!!!

And if you have not read; make sure the file is in mp3 below 3mb. (for nonpaying members).
KRISTAL is great for its simplicity.
