Hey Susie! I'll bite - I had a few spare minutes, crawled through the thread and this is what I found that I have heard before:
You took the words Right out of my mouth - Meatloaf
Me and Julio Down By the school yard - Paul Simon
Safety Dance - Men Without Hats (this is one I sing)
Breakup Song - Greg Kihn Band (this is one I sing)
Breakin' the Law, Turbo Lover - Judas Priest
When I'm 64 - Beatles
Everybody Love Somebody - Blues brothers (this is one my 11 year old son sings!)
Henry VIII - Herman's Hermits (this is one my 11 year old son sings!)
The Pussycat Song
Masochism Tango - Tom Lehrer (this is one I sing)
"Gimme Shelter" - Rolling Stones
What I Am - Edie Brickell & the New Bohemians (I've heard this ONCE)
Iris - Goo Goo Dolls (this is one I sing - badly I must add)
Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon & Garfunkel
The Impossible Dream - Various, From The Man From La Mancha (I've heard this ONCE)
Anyway - those are the ones I've heard done before and noted if it was only once, that would make them pretty rare in my book.

OMG, there is actually a CD-G with Tom Lehrer songs on them? Where in the world did you find it? I have 3 CD of his and when I need a good laugh I play them. They are definitely on my iPod as well. Thanks in advance for the information.

Yup, and as far as I can tell, they are the ONLY Tom Leher songs out there, and I think that is a shame.
I'd love to have But I Love Her (my utter favorite of his), The Elements and Be Prepared.
Tom Leher fact -- Tom ONLY did comedy to pay his way through Harvard. Once done he pursued a far more mundane life despite his "Weird Al Yankovic" abilites of the 1960's. He eludes to his studies at Harvard in his song, The Elements, which I believe is now out of date as new man made elements have been added in the last 40 years.

I do a few totally off the wall songs... being a host I do lots of songs of all different genres..... but I really like funny quirky songs... and songs no one else does and/or some songs no one has even heard of!
Never wear panties to a party
Every man I love is either married gay or dead
You're the reason our kids are ugly (duet)
Obsession (duet) gotta love the 80's
Nothing from A Chorus Line
Otto Titsling--Bette Midler
I play chicken with the Train
When you're good to Mama-Chicago
Coco Jamboo
Bidi Bidi bom bom
Macarena (duet)
Those are some fun ones not many people perform or even know.. : )

I can now add:
Insane In The Brain - Cypress Hill
What a fun song - although I change the "N" word to an "H" word which means the same as the "N' word when said by someone who is....oh never mind.

I could never do the Elements or the New Math, way too fast for me. However, Masochism Tango, just my tempo, key and state of mind. Also, being a Catholic, Vatican Rag is a theme song for my friends and I.
As for Tom lehrer, he has taught for many years at College of San Mateo, near where I live. A friend of mine gave him a call on his birthday (many years back) and had a talk with him for a couple of hours at his office. How cool is that? As far as I know, he only has 3 CDs out. Anyone know of any more?
I will check out the Sound Choice CD-G. Thanks for the suggestion.

One more song to add to this thread: Edelweiss from the sound of music. It has sentimental value to me. When I was very young, like 4 or 5, my aunt taught me how to sing that song. It was one of the first "adult" songs I have learned. I still try to sing it when I can, still remember every words to that song.

I get a LOT of their songs in custom disc format. I own 12 customs... 5 from Sound Choice, and the other SEVEN are from Sing to the World!
I highly recommend them!
That "Real Wild Child" by Iggy Pop is ONLY available from STTW!

Remember, I'm a metalhead! I'll choose 3 from some of my fave bands that I love to sing (many don't have regular karaoke tracks available so I have to either use a vocal eliminator or get help to record my own versions)
Metallica - Master of Puppets, Enter Sandman, Disposable Heroes
Iron Maiden - Wasted Years, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Aces High
Queensryche - I Don't Beleive In Love, Silent Lucidity, Eyes Of A Stranger
Megadeth - Symphony Of Destruction, Hangar 18, Return To Hangar
Judas Priest - Heading Out To The Highway, Painkiller, You Got Another Thing Comin'
Gamma Ray - Somewhere Out In Space, Land Of The Free, Valley Of The Kings
Helloween - I Want Out, Mr. Torture, Future World
Blaze - Stare At The Sun, Silicon Messiah, Blood And Belief
Blind Guardian - Lord Of The Rings, Imaginations From The Other Side, Welcome To Dying
Iced Earth - The Coming Curse, Dantes Inferno, Vengeance Is Mine
AC/DC - Dirty Deeds, Whole Lotta Rosie, Hells Bells
Also I enjoy the occassional comedy song.....here's a selection of a few I'll do when we have an adult night!
Bob And Tom band - Cameltoe, Great Day To Kick Someone's @ss, Everbody's p!ssed at me, the F U song

First let me say, this is a great topic.
That's easy--- Basically my WHOLE repertoir. It seems as though no one wants to attempt to sing Classical or Non-English songs very often, and that to me is just an invitation to try to do the impossible!
This, of course, could be fodder for a new thread: "What songs do you sing that NOBODY ELSE EVER LISTENS TO???" :reddevil:

Wow.. lots of songs I do that noone does around me are listed here.
Harden My Heart - QuarterFlash
Here Comes The Rain Again - The Eurythmics
Promises In The Dark - Pat Benatar
Forgive - Rebecca Lynn Howard - I can understand why most don't sing that song. It's a difficult song to sing.. or at least it was hard for ME to pin it down. I eventually conquered but it took a lot of practicin' for me
Silent All These Years - Tori Amos - I ADORE the lyrics in that song

I just came in for a quick visit and this topic got my attention.
Songs I sing that I've NEVER heard anyone do:
1. He ain't heavy he's my brother......Hollies ( I'm always asked to do that song now)
2. Daddy don't you walk so fast.......Wayne Newton ( Lots of tears with that one)
3. Piano Man.......Billy Joel ( Won a contest with that one)
4. Hold on to the Night.........Richard Marx ( try hitting those notes..everything crossed...ouch!!)
There's others, but those are the ones that came to mind right away.
Great topic.....very interesting,
Donny "B"
