Does anybody know of a songbook software that will sorts songs by genre? I have a bar that want's country only on one night and rock only on another, I really don't want to have to do this manually.

You could just post a sing in the front of the book and at the booth for Country only/Rock only night.
That way you can just tell them that it's country night and only country music will work.
I'm not aware of any software that lets you sort by genre and some songs might be country, might not be. Do you put Gimme 3 Steps in Rock? Country? or something else? or perhaps even both? See the issue?

Why would a bar want to EXCLUDE part of its clientele on certain nights? Seems to me that would be cutting thier own throat. Now as to THEME nights---what I've done is on a Monday I had "BLUES MONDAY" where the only kind of background music I played was blues(Muddy waters, Hooker, BB, Billy Holiday, etc). Did a "Classic Rock Sunday", "80's Thursday", Retro(60,70's, disco) Wednesday with weekends normal hip hop modern R & B. So on those nights that was the ONLY type BACKGROUND music played. But singers got to sing ANYTHING they wanted. But if I went into a place and got told the only thing I could sing is COUNTRY or STANDARDS or ROCK, I'd turn right around and leave and probably never go back. So I'd be very leery of telling singers you can only sing this or that on certain nights. I'd approach the owners about theme nights where only a certain type of backgound muisc is played but singers can sing anything they want. It actulally works pretty well as they get plenty of county music , yet get to hear thier karaoke favorits---and theier will probably be plenty of country karaoke singers anyway. Yet NO ONE gets turned away and sent out UNHAPPY NEVER TO RETURN AGAIN. Other types of nights you might try--"Broadway Standards Show", ALT ROCK, Hip hop Street ballers, DOO WOP 50's, Swing-kids Swing night. And ENCOURAGE everyone to sing a song of that genre.
AS to making separate books--theres too many genres and too many songs that kind of cross over--would be needlessly complex.

As far as theme nights. When we do theme night I just change the music I play inbetween singers and suggest people sing their favorite 80's Song or ect. We don't turn anyone away.

Karaoke speedbook has a box that you can click for country music and it will pull all the country selections for you. Ditto for duets, but not for any other types of music.
