I have a song Love Potion Number 9 that won't play.  Can it be fixed?

My "I aint no quitter" is back to no-play again as well as I got to reply to Head's comment last night and now I'm back to not being able to reply to the remaining 4 comments on that sub

just reloads the page again..

Hi Phil,

Another request. Can you take the text restictions away. Its a real pain sometimes running out of room to type in comments cause at times it takes more room. I mean, text storage is nothing.....

Foxy - I will see what is going on with that. I cannot see a problem?! After you click "reply to this comment". A new window should open where you may place your comments. Is this not happening? Check for Pop-up blocker.

AM -
1) Once the song is submitted if there is an error in the file I cannot fix that. If the error is that the file cannot be found I can check that to see if the file does exist and redirect it correctly. If the song is not playing for you but does for others it could be your computer settings.

2) Text area for comments and replies is currently set at 1000 & 500 characters respectively. This should be sufficiant space to say something about the submission. True willl text storage may not be a major factor to disc space, it is set as it is for basically two reasons. One to limit the size of the page and two to limit the amount of time it takes to submit or retrieve that information from the database. People have been complianing about the speed of the site. If everyone started writing "books" it would slow down the site even more.

Hi Phil,

you're not going to save much time or any even limiting text, its graphics that will slow you down but hey, its your site, do as you wish. DTS and KSK don't limit text, and they are fast enough.

The Love Potion song waz working fine and just recently has error messaged with cannot find file. Someone wanted to hear it and couldn't, and I can't hear it either, and I and they could at one point.

Already been there, done that... the other day when this started I had another song that had 1 new comment on it.. I couldn't reply to any on this particular sub but I could on that one. I can also listen to all my other songs as well as other people's subs... but just can't seem to get any pop up windows on this particular song to come up, whether to reply to a comment or listen to a song.. If i hit "reply" it just reloads the entire page in my browser window.

I have zero popup blockers turned on.. and like I said.. all other subs work.. at least for now.. last night I replied to one comment and went to the next one and bam.. couldn't reply again.. I've closed IE and opened new windows.. deleted cookies, etc.. restarted computer.. just happening here.. on this ONE sub

AM - To each site its own policies... loading large pages of text does make a difference in speed. Besides, you should be able to provide the submitter with a sufficient amount of information within 1000 characters - it used to be set at only 500! The other thing is these are only quick comments not a complete indepth analysis. I am certain that not everyone wants to read something that long winded... Ha ha - If you do want to provide the member with more detail either PM or email them.

WHen I reply to a comment its limited to 500 chars, can that be expanded to 1000?

You didn't comment on the Love Potion song...any ideas or are you lookin into it. I can just repost it if can't be fixed no big deal Phil.


As for speed I still don't agree that text slows ya down. Each commant has an image, that's where you're takin the big hit. Also, when you have 50 songs, it takes much longer to bring up a screen than someone with 5 songs, but its cause of the images each commenter has, not the text.

yeah it happened to the sub I had subbed before this one too.. and I deleted it because it was in the middle of your moving the site so I figured no biggie.. it doesn't do it right away.. seems like when I get to the half way mark of my comments then I can no longer reply or listen anymore.. grrrrrrrr

Foxy - I wasn't calling ya weird but if the name fits... Ha ha
I will see if there is something in the scripting that causes that. Off the top of my head I can't recall any reason, but that doesn't mean it don't exist...

AM - I think I fixed Love Potion #9 Check and see... I believe the file wasn't transferred correctly during the migration.

There might be other songs if so post them in the new topic about misiing songs.

I was able to reply this morning to those comments.. from a different physical Internet connection..
