So last night I was a company event where we press the flesh with out partners. Among the fun things to do included Karaoke, set up so that entire venue could hear and see.
Being a shameless crack whore of a Karoake addict, and with my music library in tow within five minutes I'm talking to the host. Is there a start time or can we just get this thing going.
Hey lets get it going.
Now none of our partners and 90% of my co-workers have no idea that I sing, let alone have my own Karaoke business on the side. I decide no warm up here, I need to put it out there, make a statement - so I pick one that everyone knows, generally likes, and that I can sing the bejesus out of.
Matchbox Twenty - Push
Man did I nail it and the whole room went silent. It was very bizzare as I can't remember a situation since Puyallup when I had so many eyes watching me. The photographer hired for the event starting snapping photos like he was a member of the paparazzi and I found I needed to really drown him out of my head.
The room errupted in thunderous applause and a lot of shock from the co-workers especially. Mild mannered dude down the hall that does his job but doesn't rock the boat can, gasp, sing.
It was a lot of fun - but the cat is out of the bag now.

I bet you were on cloud 9, huh? haha! So what was it like at work the next day? Did the co-workers look at you in a different light? Congratulations on your out-coming!

Most are offsite at the same conference.

See, you dont need to sign a contract with a major record company to be the Star for the night. We can always do it the Karaoke way.
