 Hi I am new to this website.  I am in the process of opening a Karaoke Bar in Lake Dallas, TX.  My daughter is my general manager and also the KJ and a singer.   We will be a family owned and operated bar and eatery and we are looking forward to it with great pride.  My daughter has been singing since she was old enough to talk in fact she would make a song out of anything you would say
I don't sing but do enjoy all the singers that are brave enough to get up in front of everyone.  I personally feel kuddos  :hi5: should go out to everyone that has the guts to stand up and sing whether they are really good or just having fun.
I am looking forward to getting to know everyone on this site.

Hey!  I think you are near my sister (Watauga) who I make go out to karaoke with me when I visit... I'll check you out before my next visit!

Your new place sounds great!  It's nice when the family can get into it as well.

I think it's great that although you don't sing, you appreciate those who do!

Thank you for your kind response.   We are in the process of opening right now and have a target date for mid July as BYOB and then hopefully in August we should get our alcohol permit.  We will look forward to you checking us out.  
I have always enjoyed music and wish I could sing like my daughter.

We KJ in the Oklahoma City metro area and have been at one bar for over 7 years!  My husband runs the system and I get to enjoy everyone one on one!   I just love my Saturday nights!  :dancin:  

We also own a karaoke store in Moore, OK (right off I-35) to help fuel our addiction!

Yes children will be allowed mostly during the week and day time but on the weekends when the crowd starts in the evenings we would prefer children to not be subjected to people that over drink.  I hope you can appreciate that.   I have grandchildren and want them to feel welcome to come here too.

I understand and agree.  I wouldn't subject my niece to the "party" crowd.  

We do a club/restaurant on Sunday that allows children until 10 p.m.  Makes sense.

Yes, it is great working together although during a show we don't spend much time together but I get to karaoke with the best KJ I know of!

Hey, you guys are both near me!  I live in Texas during the summer and go to school at OU!  I'll have to drop by sometime when I'm in town!

Hey that's great we will both look forward to seeing you.   Pretty nice having 2 homes and in 2 very nice spots.   So where in Texas are you from?  I take you like to sing.  What style of music do you usually sing?

By the way I went to your website and I want to offer some advice to you.  All you need to succeed is to try and that in itself is being successful  If you do nothing you fail.  Also do it for you! not anyone else.  You need to feel fulfillment out of doing what you love and the more you sing the better you get and the more confidence you build.  Maybe you could get with someone and do some duets to help get over the stage fright and then you will be able to stand on your own.  A friend of my daughter did it that way, (with my daughter up there with her singing in her ear) to help keep her on tune and with the melody until she built enough confidence to stand by herself and do songs she loves.  It really helped a lot   Now she is easily gets up by herself and does a bang up job.

I'm from Austin...Live Music Capital of the World!  :dancin:  I don't technically consider myself having two homes, ...I still consider Austin home - OK is just where I go to school. (My friend Robert would kill me if he heard me say that, )  And yes, I LOVE to sing and intend to make it my career.  I mainly sing pop music...Jessica Simpson is my all-time favorite singer, and I hope to emulate her in both music and image.

Thank you so much for your words of support.  I think I was (mostly) just PMSing the day I posted that, ...I still have days when I wonder what in the world I was thinking, but for the most part I'm fairly confident.  (I think a lot of that came from singing the National Anthem at my sister's dance recital, and although I was EXTREMELY nervous beforehand, the song itself went pretty well!)  And this is definitely what I love and want to do for the rest of my life.

You definitely will be seeing me!!  I haven't done karaoke in over a year...the last time was at like 5 am during last year's Relay for Life...and I miss it!  (I'll be the one singing Jessica Simpson  :dancin: )

Well, for me it's not so much about doing karaoke specifically...it's just about singing!  Now, if I had to go even a single DAY without singing, THAT'S what would kill me!!  But I sing along with the radio all the time, and at school I sing with both my school choir and my church choir, plus voice lessons, so I'm good to go!
