I have tried the JBL JRX series & wasn't impressed at all - very boxy sounding.  The Crown XLS is the low end line for Crown, they will work but don't have a very good pounch to them.  But this is my opinion only.

The JBL JRX series are low end speakers, that is why they are so inexpensive. I know someone that purchased them and they were cooked in 3 months.

The JBL MPRO Series is their top of the line series for self powered.

I still own a pair of passive MR's that are discontinued, but still rock the house after all these years.

Actually the M-Pro line isn't a powered line - except for the sub which has a dual 600 watts Crown amp built in.  The M-Pro 400 series line is actually a step down from the SR series, the sub uses the same driver as the SR4718 sub.
The JRX series isn't actually a powered line either - except for the sub.

Ok, ended up buying a pair of new Eon 15P-1 speakers for decent price. Now, I was talking a friend who is a professional musician and he said adding a nice sub woofer would complement that lower power rating the 15P-1s have over G2. Any suggestions on which powered sub would go nice with 15P-1s? I got my Mackie 1402 VLZ Pro for my mixer FYI. I am going to run the output from the mixer to the sub then from the sub to the Eons.

Also, there is a monitor output from the mixer I would like to connect to a decent one speaker powered monitor for singers. Any suggestions there?

I really appreciate your inputs. I am able to put together a nice system based on the suggestions from this board. THANKS.

The JRX powered sub would be ok or the M-Pro 418 would be perfect.

For a powered monitor, get another JBL EON.

One question on this. I thought about using another Eon but it only has single input in to this, i.e. not stereo. Does it matter which channel (left/right) I need to put in to the monitor or is there a way to input stereo signal in to a single input on the Eon? I thought I saw a monitor with two inputs, I assume for left/right channels and thought it may work better. Also, would I need the 15" Eon for this purpose? You think I can get away with 10" since it's mostly for vocal feedback? Thanks again.

You bought the Mackie mixer, you will use one of the Aux sends for the monitor & not tap off the main mix.  This way you'll be able to send a complete independent mix to the monitor without affecting the mains.  Meaning if someone wants more music or more vocals or less......etc., you'll be able to without messing with the main mix.
