Is it my imagination or are there a large number of NEW cdg manufacturers all of a sudden? While doing some purchasing I've noticed many new mfgs and I was wondering if they are really NEW and any good or just repackaged older labels ?
BIG COUNTRY
BIG HITZ
SDK -SINGERS DREAM
KEYNOTE KARAOKE
These are just a few ...Any one have any experiance with these or other "NEWER" brand labels ?

Singers Dream seems to have the most cd+g's out the few you have listed. Big Hits has like 6, and Keynote has like 2. I have heard a few tracks from each of these manufactures and they stink. About as good as Star Disc pop which has the worst guitar sound on the face of the planet.
I'll stick to Sound Choice, Pop Hits and Top Hits for my music. If you are looking for decent quality karaoke at lesser prices, it's not easy to find I'm sure you will find some hit and miss track that are not bad it's just a bummer when you buy something and it sounds terrible.

I have them! :D
I agree the above manufacturers are low grade sound quality.

I have them too, however I hate it when people actually try to "sing" them.
Also agree with that the above mentioned manufacturers stink.

I guess thats what I was thinking is that they were LESSER quality.
Maybe they are marketing for the home market with cheaper pricing.
At least I know not to even look at them now and I'll save time and frustration...Nothing like buying a disc that sounds like it was made in someones basement.

Hi,
I'm new to the forum. I've been doing Karaoke long enough to be anal about it. I'm buying custom CD's, etc.
So hello everyone. This looked liked the most recent post so I thought I would post here. I'll stay on topic in the future.
Anyway, my two cents is that it seems some manufacturers are better at some genre's. Take Sunfly, for example. There CD's are lower quality but that band they have does some rock & roll so close to the original it's amazing. I get applause just playing their version of "You Really Got Me" by Van Halen. I don't even have to sing and perhaps that's a good things

two things.
1. your sign on name, while cute and quite old in concept, isn't appropriate for a family oriented site.
2. Sunfly is NOT lesser quality... many of the ones they've put out in the past few years I would put against any large manufacturer. Same thing with Easy Karaoke and Sing To The World as well as Zoom! All British labels that do a damn good job!

A while back I purchased a few of the "Sing It Now" discs from Best Buy. Of the tracks sung thus far (mostly urban and pop), they seem passable. No complaints from any singers. The graphics are a bit small though.

I agree Sunfly puts out some good stuff but you are right they are a lesser quality as they are not in many peoples top ten MFG list .

I've got a couple sunfly discs in my collection (Depeche Mode and the Carpenters leap immediately to mind) and I think they are very good. The DM disc gets a lot of play and people are always impressed that I even have some of those songs for karaoke!

Sunfly is like most other major manufacturers. A percentage of their catalog is stellar, the majority decent and a handful of songs that make you wonder which Kindergarten class recorded them. Who did a better Bohemian Rhapsody? I've dealt with them long enough I even have a bunch of their early Laser discs. They probably don't make those top ten lists because the Karaoke outlets don't stock them so they have room for the higher margin products.

Well the moderator was right about my username. I changed it. I'll try to save my "biting arrogance" for when I need it most--when I'm singing LOL.

Ok, I'm lost, what was wrong with his previous sign in name. Didn't it mean he was a couch potato or something? *scratches head*
