Hi, just got a behringer ub1204 as a first mixer to use at home. Having some problems getting my cd player to play through my receiver.

I have the tape out of the mixer going into my receiver and i can speak through the mic ok. When i put the cd into the tape in of the mixer, it wont pass through. Now, i can hear it from the headphones on the mixer just fine, but no sound through my receiver. ??? Do i have to send the cd player through one of the stereo inputs on the mixer (ch 5 or 6)? I can get sound through to the receiver by doing that, but it is intermittent because my adaptors dont fit properly...would much rather just use the tape in, since it accepts the rca plugs.

BTW the manual says this regarding tape inputs: "The tape inputs are provided for connecting a two track machine. They can also be used as a stereo line input." Sounds like it should be able to pass the sound through....

Thanks for any help!!!

Put the cd player in the channels instead of the tape in.

Thanks man, guess i have to add more audio cables to my collection.....

by the way, is there a reason why the tape-in's arent passing the signal out, or are you recommending going thru the channels because it is a quick fix?  (bought the mixer used and just want to make sure everything is working as it should)

Because there is a switch on the front of the board that says "tape to main".  It is mainly used for live situations when a break is being taken & you hit that button to mute the rest of the board & now allow the tape input to work.  When the switch is out, it mutes the tape input & opens the main board back up.
