I go into the local music store to buy some cables to replace (upgrade) my existing ones. Speaker Cable --No problem - Microphone Cables again self explanatory.
But now I need a 1/4" - XLRF to hook up from the amp to the Mixer ? All I see are microphone cables? I also want to replace my 1/4"-1/4" cables that connect my maximizer or other processors to one another.
I see INSTRUMENT CABLES and SPEAKER CABLES and PATCH CORDS ETC ETC.
Are they all the same? Can a microphone cable be used to connect your mixer and AMP? CAN a instrument cable be used to connect various equipment together?
or is shorter "speaker" cables the one to be used ????
Whats in your RACK?

For interconnect cables in the low level signal path, I use either xlr where I can and 1/4" trs in other cases. But all of my equipment supports this.

Microphone cable and XLR cables are the same thing, for connecting your maximizer and other equiptment use patch cables preferably TRS balanced cables assuming your equiptment supports this.
