Worked a new venue last night and as you know the first time setting up somewhere can be challenging.  Let me explain briefly my power supply ..... They gave me one OUTLET ..  ( Don't ask me the AMPERAGE OR ANYTHING ELECTRICAL couldn' tell ya)  Into the one outlet with an extension cord I had a 6 outlet power strip into that I had plugged in the following
PV1200 POWER AMP
MACKIED DFX12 MIXER
JVC 303 TRIPLE TRAY
NUMARK CD MIX 1
AUDIO TECHNICS CORDLESS MIC
BEHRINGER POWERED MIXER (for monitor)
13 " Color TV

I know you are counting 7 and thats correct.. into one of the 6 I had  to use a dual intput adapter.

Now the new problem was that during the night the VOLUME seemed to lower itself sometimes as though somebody was sucking the power almost like a dimmer switch?   I played with all the wiring and all seemed to be OK ... My question is CAN THIS BE CAUSED BY THE ELECTRICAL HOOK UP?  Or should I be looking into my AMP for possible repair.   I've never had problems with the PeaveyAMP before as far as overheating   but  then again It's been working at  least 10 hours a week for the last 4 years without any servicing ?  Maybe I've been lucky!

Anyone experiance anything like this ?

Not likely a power load problem.. Everything up to line out is operating with regulated power supplies. For example the 13" tv can maintain a 90 % raster width with a voltage drop down to 80 or 90 volts. If that was the case there would be a history and the regulars would know whats goin on.  The lights would be dimming and there would be other symptons. It would be simple to monitor the voltage at the power strip with a volt meter.
In a case such as that you have to determine at which point the levels are varying. Was the mic levels low also? Would need more info to make an anaylisis..A good power surge protected strip shoud be used in bar situations (coolers etc) A typical good one is a rack mount Flexiduct.. .

Its getting that time of year when we will be doin outside gigs My worst case scenario is a boat club gig starting in the afternoon prob at about 90 - 100 degrees. There we run 2 Jbl Eon15 G2' a Jbl Eon10 G2 and maybe 8 par 38's along with eveything else  They have to run about 300 feet of extension cord.for power. Last year about 4 in the aft the mains were totally covered with red flying ants.  The flat bed is parked right next to the chain link fence which belongs to WWV and eveything is affected by the huge antenna array wich broadcasts time and frequency standards all over. Vehicles with computer ignitions are litrerally killed along that stretch. I'm the only one so far that has done karaoke without rf bleeding into the system. It is a very lucrative and fun day though.....

Havnt had any problems with the rattle snakes yet altough I did have one crawl into a nice warm tv transmitter in eastern Colorado Yuch....

Thanks for the reply.   So if its not a power supply problem more than likely its
a problem with the amp?  or Speaker? -- The more I think about it I was set up right next to  one of the speakers and the other speaker was across the dance floor .. So I'm not sure if  the Volume drop happened on the other speaker??..I just noticed it on the one right next to me ....   I
ll have to check everthing out this Saturday ay my next gig.

At least I can rule out the POWER SUPPLY as a cause

Thank You

Look for the owner controlled dimmer switch that controls that outlet. Maybe thats why they gave you that one.

Enjoy
