If of course you do buy them...  I have a plain old portable karaoke machine that uses CD+G disks.  I have purchased several disks through EBay...some I liked, some aren't that great.   I've got a version of Piano Man (in the stylings of Billy Joel..lol) that's missing an entire verse.   I was wondering for those of you that do use disks, do you buy them on EBay, do you have preferred websites, are there brands that offer better quality products than others?    And what do you do if a disk has two or three songs on it you really want, but the rest of the disk has songs you don't or worse, songs you already have on other disks?  I was thinking how great it would be to be able to purchase karaoke tracks (complete with graphics) on-line like iTunes, so that you could purchase just the songs you want and not get stuck with the filler you don't.    I know, I know...a ton of questions here, sorry.  Any feedback on acquiring music that you want to share would be appreciated.  Thanks.
:oh yeah:

I usually buy all of my CDG's from Karaoke.com.   They have some pretty
good sales.

Probably the safest bet is to click on the site supporters... if you can't find what you're looking for there, then come give us a hollor!

Their listing is at the lower left hand side of your screen in the purple.

ok, where I was going with this -  is the site rules really don't want you to talk about OTHER sites, when the site sponsors HAVE the ability to fulfill such requests. That's why they spend their money here!

A yahoo SEARCH will find "karaoke retailer" locations... including the one you posted about.

All of the retailers that sponsor this site will be more than happy to provide you with discs.

I've bought a number of discs on eBay, but I am careful to identify the discs I'm purchasing beforehand.

There are ways to purchase custom discs online so you only get the tracks you want but the pricing structure for those discs are pretty high if you plan to buy a lot of them.

Agree - the sponsors here are reputable dealers.  There are others as well.  Regardless, most of your dealers carry a variety of CDG manufacturers.  With respect to the missing Piano Man verse, or other shortcomings, you might want to look over past threads concerning favorite manufacturers.   The discs should be the same between an online dealer, convention retail store, or eBay auction (assuming it's new).  I have heard of some periodic problems with fakes/burns being auctioned.  I personally haven't had any - always check the seller's feedback and it you're still uncomfortable with them, don't bid.  There are many reputable dealers running auctions though.

karaoke.com for most but I do have other sources I go through as well that aren't advertisers on this site.

One thing nobody has mentioned since you said you wanted a disc of nothing but what you want - Custom Discs ARE available where you pick the songs YOU want & you will be sent a disc with those songs.  No filler or junk you don't want.  You may balk at the price since they go for $5 per track with many requiring a 10 song minimum, HOWEVER with your scenerio, you could easily spend upwards to $75 or mor just to get 6-9 songs & the rest is nothing you'd want.  For $75, you can get 1 disc of 15 songs of songs you want only.  Not a bad price considering.
Karaoke.com provides this service as well as Sound choice among others as well.

This is an excellent point.  $80 for sixteen tracks of songs I want isn't such a bad deal.  I could easily buy 5 or 6 disks (at $10-24.00) and not get 16 tracks I really wanted, not to mention all the duplicate tracks.  I will have to look into this.  Thanks.
