I went to a show last night were the KJ was using the Numark CDN25G dual tray
Player.  It seemd like a nice unit and all sounded good and the graphics swiped fine.

The only drawback I could see was that as you know you need a VIDEO switch to go back and forth between the 2 players .  I saw the KJ needed to restart about 4 or 5 songs because the music would start but they forgot to switch the video and the singer was like WHAT THE HECK ? .  Maybe not a big deal but as a KJ the last thing you need on a busy night is to keep switching the video after every song .....

How hard would it of been if they would have just somehow combined the video outs of  the 2 players ?

How is everyone else using this unit doing??

I use a CDN25G and love it. The way I deal with it is that I labeled my video switch Left and Right... and that's how I keep track of which side I'm working on. The unit has been reliable in every respect.

I use a 3 tray RSQ player, 2 DVD players, and my laptop at different point during a show.  I have two 4 port video switches that feed both a local 'cue' display and the performance feed to the floor.  If you get familiar with the equipment then there isn't much to dealing with the switching and it becomes a natural part of the process.  Labeling the switches really helps to prevent issues as does labeling the equipment or insuring it's easy to differentiate between the different signals.

I'm sure there are a couple ways to handle the switching automatically but it's easier to be able to just push a button each time you switch discs.  If you pay attention to what's going on you'll rarely have an issue.

As an alternative you can always get a mixer that handles the swipes automatically as you pan from one side to the other.  Expect to get crap (VocoPro) or drop some VERY serious coin on a professional video mixer though.  Personally, I'd get the $25 video switch box solution and just remember to push the button.

I have 3 separate players & an external video switch.
If this player is able to pre-cue in the player not playing, then I see the dual video as an assett - not a drawback.  If it isn't able to pre-cue, then I agree, there is no point to having 2 separate outs.

To add/answer Lonman's input. With the CDN25G, one can change the disk on the side that is not playing and cue it up ready to play. The unit only allows one side to play at a time, but it allows you to setup up the other side while one side plays. Am I making any sense?   Sorry... long day at work!

but you get that with a triple tray or pioneer's twin tray. Unless you're running a cattle company karaoke outfit, and have the next singer there with microphone with the weight on it swinging away (in the warm up box), and when one song finishes, you HAVE to start the next one, pre queued up, lyrics on the VERY first word... so when one singer finishes... the next one starts up...

SHEESH!!!

Take a look at the Numark AVM01. It a combimed audio and video mixer eliminating the need for a switch. You can set it to fade video when you fade audio. That and it give you ssemless setup, put it all in a SBK mini gig rack, hook up you cables. It makes everything neat. Less set up and tear down.

I have this player and I love it, for the most part.  I do it the easy way: run karaoke off one side, and interlude music CDs off the other.  Small mixer with crossfader for audio does the trick.  Just crossfade to music when the singer finishes, call the next singer, and swap CDGs.  When the singer is ready, crossfade back.  The player was cheaper at Guitar Center on special order than buying it from anywhere online.

I tried my hand at beatmixing with it the othernight.  I completely suck.  Those dance DJs have skills.

I'm definately not a technical genius, so please don't laugh at this idea...  Could you connect the two video output wires into an RCA adaptor with two female ends and one male end?  Does that make any sense?  Probably a stupid idea, sigh...  I was really interested in getting this unit too...
