"From me to you" was always a pretty song on that same album.

LOL,  You want to expose the "young'uns" to classic 60's harmony at it's best.  Cover the Carly Simon song "It seems like you've never been gone" off've her "SPY" album.... AMAZING layers of overdubbing of her voice,  also liturgical use of harmony. very pretty

Even uses the 4-1 "amen cadence"

If there was a spellcheck here I'd just have to worry about the other 25% of the times I edit.  Yet that would involve thinking and later posting..... Forget that !

LOL.  or is correct structure  "If there were a spellcheck here"

I mean, I totally opened up right before you, and have many times before on here, and no one even noticed or gave a doggie crap about it like they did with you

We are taught by others comments over time that to divulge certain types of sensitivity make us "sappy" "tacky" "corny" "whiners". To do this makes us appear "weak".

The fact that even a few of us admitted "we care" considering this appears to at times go against "the flow" I think is a positive thing.  Is a group of "tough shelled" people what *WE* want this place to be about ?  I realize that noone wants to be apart of a room of "cry babies" either, yet to say you have feelings that can be hurt doesn't make you a baby. As I see it... I put something in the open. People respond. Some that matter, others that do not (to me). Some responses are as expected, Some catch me off-guard.  Yet these at times do "phase me".

I took the Infomercial course, and bought the tapes "How to be a calloused stoic", practiced real hard, yet it didn't toughen me, just made me a bitter person.

What happens is sensitive people don't become less sensitive by what others say in chat areas, they leave.  Result being we are left with a site  "Karaoke for tough jocks". Here's the irony...these people care too.

So longwinded crap aside... I think most care to varying degrees, and caring is beneficial to a site.

I sure hear ya Tigger! I am not thick skinned either

Sheree,  this can make for a fascinating philosophical debate.  Pro's and cons of  individuals developing thick skin in a culture. That aside,  We had to do it when we were school-aged kids,  and when we were young and pretty in this society.

My guess is if we were to take a survey,  we'd find that there's a huge correlation between the "I don't care what you think" group, and the age of people that feel this way. My own feelings on this, having gone thru a period when I thought I didn't care what most thought myself (yet that of course was never across the board), is that not as many mid-40's, and older will be as likely to make this type of statement. I will always say,  I do care about others opinions, yet I realize out've a sampling of others opinions of me, some hate me, some haven't a clue, and some are offering constructive criticism which can help me in differing ways. Again, this isn't a polarized concept.  I always care to a degree.  So once again, this is an aspect of balance, and lifes gray areas.

It might be as simple as this.... People don't stay strong and tough indefineately.
Not long ago I was a dependent kid.  Soon when the surviving pair of braincells goes, and I'm one of the many with dimentia in the nursing home crying for my mother... I just won't be able to convince many I'm independent.

I guess I'm open to what others feel and have to say to a degree now.  Since the older I get,   the more I realize that I had it all wrong in those days.. If people have good points, I'm willing to consider changing.

Don't be silly Seby,  I live alone.  Stinky is cool !I

I usually don't work up a sweat typing in chatrooms either.  So when I get dressed to go food shopping every two weeks, the pair of pants is usually clean.
