Lonman,  I saw the mixer.  I'm sure it's a really good one, yet I also see Carvin PA series XP models that are more in a price range I'd prefer to spend.  Any opinions on something like the XP-880 ?  or something of decent quality abit less costly ?  If you think that's around what I'd need to pay for a decent powered head, than that's what I need to do.

Carvin also has the PA-1200 on sale for $600.  That might be too much power ?

The PA1200 would be a good choice @ $600.  It's not as expandable as the Mackie, but is a full flight better than the Soundtech.  It's 200 watts x 3 (2 stereo mains & monitor) into 8 ohms, & is stereo if needed otherwise you can double up on 1 channel for a 4 ohm load at 333 watts which the speakers will like alot better than the 100 watts they are currently recieving.  Carvin does make good stuff.  I love their component power amps & speakers.  The sound engineer for my band got me hooked on that stuff as he ran an entire Carvin PA from mixer to speakers & monitors.

I appreciate the help Lonman.  I doubt I would ever need to expand on the systems power. This would still be for use in a relatively small area.  The goal being matching a powered mixer to the speakers. Perhaps if I were to gig doing keyboard work.  A keyboard mixer.  Otherwise a home mixer, that's all.  The soundtech quikmix 6 was just something I bid on at a music store auction awhile back.  I just purchased that on a whim.
