I like my rack on the left, mixer on top, table on the right with the monitor keyboard and mouse against the rack. Then 3 feet of empty table with Pad an pen for a rotation list

Table behind me with the cd's on it. (only when I am using a karaoke machine) I havent used Cdg's in over a year now, so that table doesnt exist.

Ill Bet this gets some interesting answers

Whats Your Favorite....position...?  :yum:   Awwwww, there are so many.

But in respects of karaoke, if I had a choice i'd be out in front as a sound engineer for a band.  As far as equipement placement - wherever it will fit.  Prefer mixer on left of me with players to the right of it & discs somewhere close.

As long as I have an unobstructed view of the rack, I'm happy.

12 space rack with the mixer sitting on top at an angle will be at my left side.  My table will be directly in front of me holding my CD books, my laptop, and the two external drives.  My light rack will be above me with me sitting towards the right side of it.  In front of me towards the left will be two microphones set up for singers.  I have one mocrophone on a boom stand being hepd above the laptop as well.

Than of course two speaker towers on either side of the rack, than my stand-mounted speakers on the very edges of the room, one monitor in front of each microphone stand for the singers and headphones for me.

Any way I can get it..... LOL

Right now my equip is on the stage facing a wall (small stage). Small table to the right with free standing rack next and the table to the right for cds. Small table is for my stage song book. I am going to be buying an other table and will have to get rid of the small table on the right and shift my rack to that position so that I can place an other table in the corner so they are in a shap of a "L".  Wish I had more room would like to be off stage so I can hear mix better. OH Well

In a 10/6 slant rack on rollers in the top I have a Mackie Dfx12 and in front a Dbx 266xl and a Microverb 4. Bottom contains a rack mount surge protected power strip next slot (all1/3) is a cd drive, a hard drive nest and an Alesis NanoCompressor for ducking background music..  Then an Aphex 104 and Bbe362.  Bottom 2 is 2 gig computer.  I use a 8 by 50' snake to run audio both mains and stage monitor, video to the tv monitor and mics back and sit out in front where I can hear wats goin on. Mixer on left and 17' flat screen at about 45 degrees with keybrd and table mic.

Laptop karaoke is not legal (yet) in Finland, so my player based rack would be like this from the top:

- mixer
- compressor limiter
- effects processor
- DVD/CDG player
- LD player (when included)
- Amp (when included)

I like the rack being supported so, that the mixer is at about my chest height. Monitor should be placed so that I see the picture at least partially myself. I have many cases of discs, they're on the floor, tables or wherever, the most used disc racks / cases are close of course.

Also, I would love to be placed on the "mixing side" but usually that's not possible, so the speakers would normally be on both sides of me, facing away towards the customers.

jee
