DOn't know where you heard there were bugs in them?  Those are pretty much the standard player for many (maybe a majority) of karaoke companies.  The 505 is just a gold faced version of the 303 triple tray.

absolutely...

now SOME of the players with wireless mics there have been issues... something about the frequency that the mics use is the same as the frequency of something with the player.

I have been using the trip trays for five years, with nary a problem! Very durable and dependable!

BUT if you hook the wireless mics into a mixer, you're all Gold! No issues that way at all. But I do remember Acekaraoke.com used to have a disclaimer on the trip tray players about hooking wireless DIRECTLY into the players!

The only bugs that I have heard of are caused by using the improper voltage settings. Because these units are shipped internationally they are capable of operating on mutiple voltage settings. Sometimes they come preset for a a voltage that is not used in the US. Many folks do not read the warnings posted inside the shipping carton, and sometimes experience problems.

Up until I went 100% computerized I used 2 of these units for about 5 years with no problems. In my opinion they are an excellent investment.

Unless it is about the same price as the standard triple player, just go with the black version.  It really is the same unit.

actually, I would recommend the gold one... from a darkened or shadowy area, the illumination of the player is much easier to see for my old man eyes!

That's why I have a small desk lamp that I use during shows.  Sometimes even during setup the lighting is pretty low so I can use it to illuminate a much wider area if necessary.  It has a 10 year flourescent bulb in it that replaces the standard screw in type bulb and can clip on almost anywhere that's convenient.

I have the black version and it works pretty well for me.  Likely going to get another one soon for a backup.

I have had nothing but problems with my jvc trips...been through 3 of them.  My biggest problem is skipping.  Maybe its because my rack is so close to my subs most of the places I play, but it seems to skip so easily.  So Ive went bak to the old Pioneer pd-v10g dual tray.  Talk about  a  hell of a machine. The only prob ive ever had with these is the drawers coming off track, but Ive had that problem enough I can open it right up and rea lign them in a matter of minutes lol.

The V10s, probably the best machine made.  Only problem?  Pioneer for some reason stopped making them.  We should start an e-mail campaign to bring them back,
