I just want to thank you 2 for always bein supportive of whatever i do out here...i dub thee mikeys angels......thank you...and by the way i am dazzled by your pics as well...but to tell the truth i think everyone is better looking than ever...somethin about age that can class up people like it does wine....but i wouldve gotten a sore neck if you ladies had walked by me in those days...hubba hubba ! you know pictures are such a double edge sword...as i was posting mine i was smiling and flashing back to the days when i was invincible...didnt worry about my mortality or my physical appearance...after i loaded the pics i walked in the bathroom and looked in the mirror and saw the age that has claimed my face and has made me middle aged...young people at work say "you look cool for an old guy" what does that mean? how do you take that....i want to thank you luly for this post cause it was like drinking from the fountain of youth for a moment and a wake up call to living each day and appreciating how you are...i want to be proud of bein forty and having a kid say i look cool for an old guy cause when im sixty i am gonna look at the pictures of me now at 40 and play the same mirror game asking myself where did my 40s go....and the funny thing is we will all be as proud to post our 40's pics when we are 60 as we are now to post our 20's pics at 40....l guess what im sayin is that age is all a reference point and we should all be proud of how we look now...all you people are beautiful on this site (guys as well as the girls) inside as well as out ! i remember a twilight zone where old people were playing kick the can and magically they were transformed to kids...i just want to thank everyone on showcase who participate in the subs and the forums cause this site is certainly my "kick the can" game that keeps me young

You are very "cool" for a "rocker" too... I love that you are so in touch with your feelings and sometimes some of the stuff you say just blows my mind that it's coming from a "rocker dude" type of guy.. I have a warped image of what personalities are like in rocker's from watching MTV/VH1, etc.. and you are a delight to have exchanges with..

Mikey ~~  you are soooooo right ~~ about that aging process.  My son and his buddies (@20-24) all tell me I'm the "BOMB".  Call me Cin-babe ~~  Rofl ~~  but when I look in the mirror .... the person that I see doesn't look like the person that is INSIDE.  The Inside gal ~~ is still crazy, fun loving, sassy, full of it ~~ But the face that looks back ..... is a lot wiser.... you can tell she's been thru a lot more than the "insider".  

And you are right.... age is soooooo relative.  I remember when 40 WAS old.  Now ... its not old at all.  Its just MY AGE.   When I went looking for pics .... I had to stop and think... MY GOSH this was like .... 26 yrs. ago.  But.... I can still remember posing for them... like it was just yesterday.  


I like where am now ~~ I like (for the most part) where I've been ~~ and I can only hope where Im going .... will be as good.

hey foxe...i want to thank you for one of the best compliments you could ever give to a guy like me...you are absolutely right , in the  rock and roll world about 90% of the artists are assholes..but it is the other 10% who try to just be themselves.i am an openly emotional guy who doesnt try to wear the macho mask that so many performers do...maybe thats why i never got signed while the assholes like AXL (who i knew) were given a wonderful opportunity and wasted it through selfishness and selfindulgence..if i seem bitter about that i am...i kinew a lot of cool musicians out in LA and none of them made it yet all were so talented...the industry seemed to like to grab the loose cannons cause they kinda make their own press...as for the good 10% of artists. we have  a few here like steven who has played for years and is the most grounded nice intelligent guy ive met in a long time..so is JVJ....im starting to get to know him a little better and he seems like a very nice guy...one thing that guys like axl will never have is great friends like you and so many others on this communal site...and you cant really put a price on that...thank you again for a compliment that means a lot to me.....

I'm so glad starting this thread provoked such good memories for y'all.  This site has opened up a whole new world for me...one full of friendships, good times, great singing and also a place where we can express ourselves through the forums.  It is funny how you sometimes form an impression of a person, but once you get to know them there are are so many facets to them.  I appreciate all my friends here for their diverse qualities and I hope we can always keep in touch.

For some reason I don't have my actual prom pics uploaded (I probably didn't like them, I seem to recall my bra strap was showing, !).
Here is one of a "backwards dance" we went to my Junior year.  Yes, that is my husband, that's how long we've been together (since 1978, scary, huh!).
It was a Hawaiian theme.  Backwards dance is like Sadie Hawkins dance, the girl asks the boy.

Congrats on your weight loss, that is great!!  let us know how you do. I have been trying to lose since November. I have 60 lbs. total to lose.  I lost 15 but I'm having trouble the past month or so, been going back and forth 5 lbs.  But now that I am back from the trip I hopefully can stick to the diet better.

OK... when I was diggin for kid pictures I found 1 prom pic from 1987. I was a freshman in high school (9th grade) and went to another town's prom with my boyfriend who was a senior (woohoo )..

This is funny... His name was Perry -- just like Shotgun CC Cindy's boyfriend's name is now... Eerie huh? .. so many similarities..
