All i know is that there is lots of time to record, that usually helps you get back into it if you think that way.

Ummm... well Steven to be honest.. the last time this happened to me it lasted 10 years.. not sure how temporary that is considered. and then I had to literally pick myself and force myself to sing and experience the nerve wracking joy of "coming out" in public again.
But today I'm wayyyy overtired that I've been able to shut my mind off and actually sing some songs again and just had fun. That has helped. So apparently my secret to fixing this is only sleep for 3-4 hrs for 2 nites in a row and then on the 3rd day you won't care anymore and can just let it rip? :dancin:

Funny you should start this thread, Cindy....I haven't felt like singing in the past 2 days. Yesterday I subbed an old song just to keep participating, but I'm even thinking of not going to karaoke tomorrow! Whoa....don't know what's wrong with me. Hopefully I'll get outta this funk I'm in. I think I've burnt myself out or something.
I guess when I hear a song that I won't be able to resist singing comes along, that'll make me snap out of it.

Well, thanks Bill! I'm not promising anything, but I'll try to give it a listen. Remember, pretty much any country song I do is a pretty steep learning curve.. ... I don't know any of them!! (with a few rare exceptions). So, I'll download it and see what happens.

I can't remember a singer's block....just the opposit for me I wanna sing all the time....can't seem to get enough...I believe that's why I backed off from here for a few days...I soooo want to record and sub...but alas I think I'm just to dense to figure it out....I need shown....taken by the hand and led through the process... ...but singer's block...well maybe I don't understand the question....oh no I see a trend here...my lack of understanding....well I know what will make me feal better.....I'll go have a drink and sing a song (or two)....

I would say just take a little break and try again next week. Sometimes you get burned out.

Hey Foxe-Cindy, if you have 'singers block', one way to get over it might be to have someone 'challenge' you to do a song... then you might try something new and feel inspired.

Good grief -- I had to quick check that forum to make sure you hadn't done anything like that!! Scared this sleepless girl to death why don't ya!
Umm.. hey Crazy Syber Girl.... while that is a very interesting idea - I think the slow song train I've been on lately has my nerves about shot so... maybe I'll pass for now... ..
I'm so-so on the singing block right now. I've been able to put together a couple of songs in the past few days. And actually I am working with someone on a song right now and it WILL definitely be a challenge!! Now if I could just get the house to myself so I could actually work on it would be another miracle in itself.
But thanks girl!
