Why?

Ya know I love ya Big Jimmie but geez.. are you full of questions today! Ya remind me of a 4 year old, "why? why? why?"

 Now what was the question again.. Oh yeah.. Why do you sing Karaoke...

Because it helps me vent when I'm mad and then I feel much much better (people listening might not but too bad ).. I also like to sing when I'm happy cuz it makes me feel even happier.. [/font]

just went with some friends one night and had fun. Kept going now running my own show. Nothing better than seeing people have fun and enjoy watching and hearing me.

Singing feels like praying. I don't think of God when I sing, and haven't entered a church in years, but I feel a spirituality when I sing, no matter what the venue. I am at my best when I am singing and forget everything else for as long as the song lasts.  It's a great feeling. [align=left][/align]

I grew up with a 'singing' family...it's something that was shared with me by my mother and grandfather and now I share it with my husband and children and I hope it continues through the generations...  :handshake:  (sorry but I love the new emoticons)

I love Karaoke because ...

I get to sing and I looooove music.  It takes care of both.  

I love to be with people that are having a great time, laughing and encouraging each other.  :hug:


I love to SMILE.... and after a show... my face actually hurts, from smiling so much.

I agree with Shotgun. Going to a venue where there is karaoke going on is way more fun than setting it up at home and singing by yourself! Although there is something to be said for quiet focus on improvement that you can't get at a karaoke bar.
By the way, Shotgun, I enjoyed your rendition of a song I did the ballad version of. I was reading through the posts in singers' showcase and saw the thread about checking to see if a song had been done recently before submitting the same title. So, I went back to see if someone had submitted the song I had just put in and found yours a couple of pages back. I was relieved to hear you chose the fast version and that it was so well done. So, I left mine there, since it was a different sound altogether. I will be more vigilent in the future. I am a newbie and am getting the hang of how the veterans of this board would like to see things happen. I agree with you guys about waiting a while before posting the same version of a song. We all get a kick out of karaoke...that's why we do it!

Hi there Jeanie!! Welcome to the site ~~ cool place, huh?  So glad  to hear ya subbed a song... I'll look for it in a bit.  :oh yeah:

Rule of thumb is wait a day (or until the song is on page 2) before ya sub yours.... but mistakes sometimes happen... and thats okay.  You are soooo right about Karaoke being a  "kick" ..... glad you've joined us here and are posting too!!

I have been singing karaoke for 11 years. I do it cause I love to sing.I have been singing since I was a kid, and karaoke gives me a chance to do it in public.  And I'm a ham.  :rotflmao:

I sing for that rush I get when it all comes together...the song...the audience....the preformance....when ya get that chill that tells you this is a special moment.....it's better than any mind bending drug....better than sex.....it's addicting.....

and I may never be a nationally know singer....but a star in my little corner of the world....

well if the spell checker worked...or if I'd studied spellin' a little harder......

and yes better than sex....that rush is (which doesn't come often)my drug of choice.....and the sex isn't as hard to find.....in someways it's like Neil Diamond said in his "Live at the Greek" video, it's like having sex with the audience....I pick my songs with that in mind...start out slow and build...when it works wow!
