There's been discussion here before about singing...but I wanted to take a different approach and bring out the "Urban Legends" of singing....things that are not true but you might think are....for example, drink water to coat your vocal chords before singing and between songs to keep them moist....Uh Uh....any water hits your chords and you've got water goin' down the wrong pipe...result is massive coughing...not coating...
I know a few others but I'd like to see what the experts have to say...that is...everyone in Singers Showcase...

I'm not sure this is the sort of thing you're looking for, but one widely-held opinion I think is wrong is that you should only sing if you're good at it. I mean where did that come from? If you enjoy it, do it. Yeah, some people are terrible. So what?
