I don't think this would be very hard to do, but if it would be a pain, I'll completely understand. I'm not sure if I saw this on another site, or if it's just something I've been hoping for.

How about a 'favorite singers' list? Basically, if you really like a certain singer, you can add their 'Singers Showcase' profile page to a 'favorite singers' list. To access the list, you could go to your own profile & click on a 'favorite singers', or just 'favorites' button.

When you bring the list up, it could show the singer's names & how many 'new' songs they have (that would be ideal). That way, we could be sure not to miss new subs from our 'favorites'!

Whadda ya think Phill? Doable?

Well, i think it would be easier... if everyone just bookmarked MY page, as their home page.

That was suggested before and I didn't know if it was possible. However, the more stuff that you people throw at me the more I learn. So basically I think I can do it... Let me run it by management.

Then give a few to figure it out. In the meantime, use Gilly's idea

Now, I know this is possible. I am looking into this feature. It does sound like something everyone could or would use.

Just trying to figure the coding. I know that there a few other here that know a lttle php scripting - any ideas from you folks?

Here is what I figure is needed:

1) on each member profile page that another registered member is on has a check box that says "Add to Buddy List"

2) on each registered members personal profile page there is a button to "View Buddy List" (Not viewable by others)

3) The capabilities of adding or deleting members from your "buddy list."

4) Do we want the member that is on your personal buddy list to know that you have them marked as your buddy?

5) Can anyone think of something else???

That is a bunch to code but I know it can be done...

Those all sound great, Phill. I wish I knew about php scripting... html is as far as I go on server-based coding. I've been meaning to learn some php and java though...

Yeah, the idea of letting folks know who has added you (giving you the opportunity of adding them in return) is a good one. The only other little tweak I can think of, is the feature I mentioned earlier of being able to see, when you look at your 'buddy list', how many 'new submissions' that buddy has which you have not listened to. For example:

Buddy Name --------- New Subs -------- Online

Crystal........................(1)......................no
Gilly.............................(2)......................yes

(sorry 'bout the dots... wouldn't line up correctly otherwise)

The 'online' thing might not be that useful, but it might be interesting for when the 'shout box' is incorporated... so we could know who, of our friends, might be watching.

Of course, it would also be useful to be able to simple click on our buddy's name to go straight to their profile. I'm assuming you would do that anyway, but just thought I would throw it in just in case.

Getting feedback from other folks might be useful in this too... I'm surprised no one has really said anything about this yet. :p

Thats because, i am my only favourite, and I always know when I submit a song, or when I am online.



And, to know when somone adds you.. well, That could be depressing.. what if you NEVER get added?!
