I was wondering if someone could recommend a book that teaches tips on taking care of your voice and maybe some other tips like improving your singing range? or getting the most out of your voice?

Thanks for any help,

Chris

Hi there,

There actually is a book Singing for Dummies (I got one for my birthday !)

Its really cool, good tips on warming up correctly, breathing technique. It even gives advice on what particular songs are suited to your voice type (ie. Bass, Baratone.......)

Check it out. I believe you can buy it in Chapters

Lady Di

Do a search on Internet "Voice+Singing" ... you should find a lot of sites that offer you suggestions on singing & vocal hygiene.

Also.... head on over to the SS .. and listen to Jazzybaggz's Demos. Lots of really good tips there!!

Have fun & good luck.

~~ Cindy :)

Does this book offer tips for those of us blessed with the type of voice suitable for creating sounds currently unrecognised on this planet as songs ? Is there a section in that book regarding the phenominon that sends cats flying out've tree's ? and emergency vehicles to your home ?

Anything regarding legal recourse when the EPA confiscates your microphones ?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Now that I am finally off for the weekend, I am going to listen to Jazzybaggz' demos and make a trip to barnes and nobles. :)

If you prefer an audio option, there's the Vocal Coach series.

What helped me out lots is ww.vocalrelease.com where you are taught to abduct your vocal chords and not stretch them for higher notes...also Seth Riggs has a book out with step by step to learn speech level singing...
