Hey Elisha! With the octave correction, I guess I have just about the same range as you! (probably can get down to that C3 when my chords aren't inflamed.. pooh)
Of course, you have MUCH better CONTROL over yours... but hey, it's kinda cool.

Don't worry, while I was freaking out about posting the wrong song, and having no one listen to me, about NOT listening to it,
I ate half of a pumpkin pie.

Oy, okay .. now I am really confused. According to calculations based upon the new recording and piano graphic, I can't even sing a middle C <sob> My voice peters out at G3. Over time, my voice has gotten deeper, but I've lost about an octave of range on the upper end. Is there anyway to get some of that back?
The good news is that I can hit a B1 fairly comfortably tho, prolly cause I'm 5'10". <shrug>

The recording started at C2, and B1 would be the first note before C2 right? <throwing forearm to forehead in a dramatic yet retarded daze>

Lind! Yeah, no WAY you could be singing THAT low!!
You don't have any subs online, but if you did we could probably guess-timate where you are (based on the updated scale info & stuff)

Huhm... I guess I will just have to wait a while to find out then. I would love to sub something right now so we could figure out my range and I do have a few mp3s of me singing along with other artists that were done before the great mic crash of 2004, but NO WAY are they good enough to sub. I will definitely send something in when I get my new computer/mic and can do songs without the original artist's voice tracks on them.

Wow.. some really informative info. I've been away for awhile but I try to make it in from time to time to at least browse the forums. I haven't posted any recent subs because I haven't recorded anything recently. The club I used to record at (during karaoke) closed... Now, I need to get my computer set up to record and would love some help with that. What do I need exactly? Do you know of any programs with real time effects? Or should I just purchase an effects processor? I hate to sing in a dry mic and then apply effects (post)
I made a New Years Resolution to really focus on getting my voice in shape and gain better better vocal confidence. In order to do so, I'm currently seeking vocal training in order to expand my range and correct some issues. I've been using my subs to demo my live, raw singing voice to voice teachers. So far, the voice teachers who listened haven't been that helpful. They can't seem to pinpoint anything I need to work on. I'm sure they would be more helpful if I were singing in front of them... I'm curious if you would mind listening to my subs and share with me what you feel I should seek training to correct and/or enhance? I think I have some placement issues and sing harder than I have to. I know I can be really hard on myself, and I often compare myself to female singers .. which can be unrealistic.. but then again.. Steve Perry, Jody McBrayer (of Avalon), Billy Porter, and other male singers can sing in the female register.. so perhaps thats what I'm aiming for? My fave female singers are Deborah Cox, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Anastacia, Donna Summer, and Celine Dion. I often do my vocal warmups to their music .. because it makes singing anything in the tenor range much easier.. Any help would be appreciated. You can either post here or email me at JWFriendlyLA@aol.com. Thanks in advance.
